[Dx-packages] [Bug 1315434] Re: Mouse with no time remaining estimate showing in preference to battery being charged
ANY sort order does not fit my needs. If I want to see the status of mice and keyboard batteries, I can click on the indicator and see them all. What I need to see ALWAYS at a first glance, is the status of my laptop battery, regardless of discharging, charging or full and on ac. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of DX Packages, which is subscribed to indicator-power in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1315434 Title: Mouse with no time remaining estimate showing in preference to battery being charged Status in “indicator-power” package in Ubuntu: In Progress Bug description: When my laptop battery is in a charging state, but is not fully charged, I expect it to be displayed in preference to my mouse, which has no time remaining estimate. The spec here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Power says: "If anything is discharging, the menu title should represent the component (not battery, but component) that is estimated to lose power first. For example, if your notebook battery is estimated to discharge in 1 hour 47 minutes, and your wireless mouse battery is estimated to discharge in 27 minutes, the menu title should represent the mouse. " but there doesn't seem to be any guideline to what happens when a battery is being charged. I suggest the time remaining to charge a battery should be displayed in preference to the power level in a wireless mouse. [Dx-packages] [Bug 1321747] Re: Unity lock screen bypassed with debsign password prompt
Hi Seth, The screen was locked automatically after me being away from the work station for a couple of minutes. Unlocking the screen was, as mentioned in the report, a matter of trial and error which involved pressing some keys (where I noticed nothing appeared in the password input field even though the caret was blinking in it) and then pressing enter a couple of times. I also clicked on the gear/logout icon and then on the password input field for trial and error, but am not sure if that's what got me out of the bad state. In the Terminal I was running dpkg, followed by debsign (using GPG, so I had to provide a password to unlock my key - a different password than for logging in). Also Pidgin was running, but I'm not sure if that received keyboard input or not. Hope that helps, otherwise I'll try to provoke it again tomorrow and try to narrow it down. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of DX Packages, which is subscribed to unity in Ubuntu. Only after typing a wrong password two-three times, the lock screen password field was able to receive input. Further investigation showed, that the keyboard input instead ended up in a password prompt debsign spawned while the lock screen was active - a place where it under no circumstance should be able to end up while the lock screen is active. I'm not able to condense the bug report right now, but it seems quite serious to me, so I'd rather report it immediately. [Dx-packages] [Bug 1321747] Re: Unity lock screen bypassed with debsign password prompt
Thanks for the report, Maarten. Do you recall how you locked the screen and how you unlocked the screen? Can you recall which applications were running when the screen was locked? ** Information type changed from Private Security to Public Security -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of DX Packages, which is subscribed to unity in Ubuntu. Matching subscriptions: dx-packages https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1321747 Title: Unity lock screen bypassed with debsign password prompt Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: 1) Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 2) unity 7.2.0+14.04.20140423-0ubuntu1.2 3) What I expected to happen: While the lock screen was active, and trying to type in the password prompt in the lock screen, my input would be written in that password prompt. 4) What happened instead I could not see anything being written in the password field in the lock screen. [Dx-packages] [Bug 1321870] [NEW] mouse clicks displaced
Public bug reported: "Sometimes" mouse clicks in unity are displaced: When I click on a specific folder e.g. in nautilus, the folder below is selected. This also effects thunderbird (so I believe it's independent from the program). So technically when I click on (x=100px, y=500px), the mouse click is catched at (100px, 600px) (upper left corrdinates). If I remember correctly this isn't the case for the unity launcher or the top menu but only for the rest of the visible area. I also believe that it startet when I switched apps from the unity launcher and it stopped when switching more times again. Occasionally, when changing virtual desktops, a window that was maximized on the LCD will pop over to the external display. I've seen this at least through raring cycle and still in saucy. I'm not sure what triggers it, but when it happens I have to drag the window back to the right screen. I'm having this issue as well. It's not very frequent but it has happens once in a while. I have a machine with an NVIDIA card, using proprietary nvidia drivers, dual monitor display. Does nobody else see this issue?? It happens in quite many applications: apport-gtk, bluetooth configuration, gnome-sudoku, dconf-editor, control center / input methods, a couple of file save dialogs. This occurs for example in dconf-editor while searching: It appears dconf-editor tries to adjust the window dimensions to the size of the content and reduces the window size until it is unusable. This causes very high CPU activity and freezes the window content. It also happens when (then) resizing the window width (→) or height (↓) afterwards, it tries to revert to the previous window size. However, the only way to resize the window back so that it doesn't reduce its size is by dragging the window corner (↓→). This issue happens also in other applications, for example in apport- dialogs when expanding the collapsed details view. This does not happen when the global scaling factor is set to 1. [Dx-packages] [Bug 1181876] [NEW] Maximized Chrome window moved to other monitor when tab opened from different workspace
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I have a dual-monitor setup and usually have chrome open and maximized on the right monitor of workspace 1. If I click on a link in an application (say an IM chat window) that's on a different workspace, a new tab will open in Chrome but the whole Chrome window is moved to the left monitor of workspace 1. This only happen when the window is maximized. If it is not, it stays on the same monitor. It also happens with other apps like Firefox, Chromium... It started happening in 13.04 but did not happen in 12.10. ** Affects: unity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Maximized Chrome window moved to other monitor when tab opened from different workspace https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1181876 You received this bug notification because you are a member of DX Packages, which is subscribed to unity in Ubuntu. -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~dx-packages Post to : dx-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~dx-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
