[Dx-packages] [Bug 1361836] Re: Cannot click on anything

2014-10-23 Thread Aleksander Blomskøld
Same happened with me after upgrade to 14.10. I've tried this (with no
success):

 * Logging in as a guest user
 * Uninstalling nvidia driver (using noveau instead).
 * Using GDM instead of lightdm

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1241972] Re: Drag and drop from Dash to Desktop doesn't work

I am also affected by this bug.

However, the main issue is that it is not ONLY desktop but basically
EVERYWHERE,
so I also cannot drag drop launcher icons to e.g. start programs.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1303758]

2014-10-23 Thread Marc-andre-laperle
(In reply to Paul Gestwicki from comment #31)
If I run Eclipse Luna with SWT_GTK3=1, it does not crash, but my tables are
empty (e.g. Installation Details). This happens whether or not I specify
 LIB_OVERLAY_SCROLLBAR to 0 or 1 and UBUNTU_MENUPROXY to 0 or 1.

It's LIBOVERLAY_SCROLLBAR not LIB_OVERLAY_SCROLLBAR. If that doesn't
work, could you create a new bug? It sounds like a different issue. Also
it would be good to include your gtk2 and gtk3 versions. Thanks!

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1303758]

2014-10-23 Thread Pvgestwicki
I see that this is marked as verified fixed, but I am still experiencing
this error. I am running Mint 17 KDE, 64-bit, everything up-to-date.

If I run Eclipse Luna as-is, it crashes on opening the
Preferences-Appearance tab.

If I run Eclipse Luna with SWT_GTK3=1, it does not crash, but my tables
are empty (e.g. Installation Details). This happens whether or not I
specify LIB_OVERLAY_SCROLLBAR to 0 or 1 and UBUNTU_MENUPROXY to 0 or 1.

The above behaviors are the same when I run the Mars M2 and the 20141021
nightly, both crashing on default settings and having empty tables when
using SWT_GTK3=1.

Bug description:
Installing Skype package (from skype.com) via software center creates
unclickable icon in Unity dash. Bug happens only with Unity and
Software Center. Installing package via gdebi or dpkg works fine.

  Steps to reproduce:
  1) Download skype-ubuntu-precise_4.3.0.37-1_i386.deb from skype.com

  2) Open it with software center (software center should be started as
normal user, not via sudo to reproduce this bug)

  3) Press install button

  4) Open dash (press super key), do not type anything (clear search
field if there is something there).

  5) Skype icon will be in recently accessed applications (strange, because it
was never launched, seems software center adds it there).

https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1334021/+attachment/4138553/+files/Screenshot%20from%202014-06-25%2002%3A07%3A21.png

  6) Left click on it will not start skype. Nothing happens on left click.
Right click will show document icon, instead of skype button. There will be no
Launch button.

https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1334021/+attachment/4138552/+files/Screenshot%20from%202014-06-25%2002%3A07%3A52.png

  7) It is possible to start skype by doing following: Start typing skype in
search bar. Now icon will become clickable. Right clicking also will work
correctly (skype icon and launch button present).

https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1334021/+attachment/4138555/+files/Screenshot%20from%202014-06-25%2002%3A09%3A26.png

  8) Open dash again after starting skype. Clear search field. You will see two
skype icons: one is correct and clickable, second one is not.

  9) If you uninstall skype, this wrong icon (which doing nothing)
will be left in the system, only correct icon will be removed. It is
possible to remove wrong icon by going to Security Preferences
and pressing Clear usage data there.

Bug description:
I can map the Volume Control keys in Keyboard Shortcuts e.g. Volume
up/down to Volume up/down, but when I press the Volume keys on the
  keyboard nothing happens.

I have noticed the same problem with other keys on my Logitech Internet 350
keyboard with Tools, Mail, and HomePage.
They can all be mapped with Keyboard Shortcuts, but nothing happens
afterwards when the keyboard key is pressed.

All these keyboard settings worked fine in older versions of Ubuntu.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 754337] Re: unity indicators are duplicated on both monitors in twin-view

I'm using 14.04 and I find this very disturbing, an option to show the
indicator on just one of the monitors would be nice, as there is an
option to only show the launcher in one of them

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1353379] Re: VoiceMail notification pretends there are 255 messages. It is not true there are only 2

2014-10-23 Thread Tony Espy
Just reproduced on krillin running RTM image #120 with an ATT SIM (
slot 1 ) and a T-Mobile SIM ( slot 2 ).

Steps to reproduce:

1. Verify T-Mobile VM mailbox is empty.
2. Call T-Mobile number, decline call and leave a messge.
3. Verify that VM notification is received. Krillin indicates Voicemail
messages waiting with no message count
4. Call number again, decline and leave a second message
5. No new VM notication. Existing notification still says Voicemail messages
waiting
6. reboot the phone
7. VM notification now reads 255 Voicemail messages waiting

Output from list-modems shows:

 [ org.ofono.MessageWaiting ]
VoicemailWaiting = 1
VoicemailMailboxNumber = +18056377243
VoicemailMessageCount = 255

A Client whose window has not yet been mapped can request of the
Window Manager an estimate of the frame extents it will be given upon
mapping. To retrieve such an estimate, the Client MUST send a
_NET_REQUEST_FRAME_EXTENTS message to the root window.

when sending such message unity seems to never respond which hangs any
application using this feature forever. This was working until last
update in ubuntu 14.10, somewhere around 16-20 oct 2014.

this has been noticed with latest GLFW:

A maximized application's title bar does not merge into the menu bar
once a user has performed Super + W (window slide). Note that if one
does not do Super+E, then the bars to merge together. However, once
Super+E has been performed, this bug persists for the lifetime of the
windowed application. If the application is restarted after doing
Super+E, then the bug is gone. Thus, it seems like Super+E introduces
this bug for the lifetime of the windowed application.

Expected behavior: Maximized window's title bar is merged into menu bar.
Observed: Does not occur after Super+W is performed.

  Try this out using Terminal.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1384909] [NEW] Always on top windows go into the background after the dialog

2014-10-23 Thread Volodya
Public bug reported:

Here i will us specific applications as an example, but i have checked
with others as well. Using specific ones for clarity.

To replicate:

Open a file manager
Start a video in VLC
Set Always on top on VLC window
Observe that you can continue browsing files in the file manager, and the VLC
window will remain on top of the file manager
Press delete on any file
The dialog box to confirm the deletion will open

What happens:

VLC window will go below the file manager window, and will stay below
even after the dialog will go away

What i expect to happen:

Dialog should go over the VLC window, but the file manager should not go
over it.

alternatively if that isn't possible

VLC window should become visible again as soon as the dialog gets
dismissed.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1372254] Re: New Event in Calendar app not scheduled for the correct time zone.

2014-10-23 Thread Charles Kerr
To test this, I created a calendar event for tomorrow (Fri Oct 24) going from
4:55 PM (16:55) to 5:55 PM (17:55).
My timezone: America/New York (UTC-4).

Given this setup and set of inputs, calendar-app creats this entry in
~/.local/share/evolution/calendar/system/calendar.ics:

DESCRIPTION:Some event

END:VALARM
END:VEVENT
END:VCALENDAR

DTSTART is set to 20141024T205500, which is a 'floating' value not
bound to any particular timezone -- that is, it should fire 20:55:00 no
matter which time zone the user is in.

indicator-datetime shows this as:

Tomorrow 8:55 PM

which is the correct rendering (on 2014-10-23) for an event which starts
at 20141024T205500.

In summary:

- Since clock-app's New Event form doesn't contain a timezone chooser,
clock-app is correct to store DTSTART, DTEND as floating dates.
- calendar-app appears to have a bug that converts the date's value to UTC
before saving it as a local time.
- since calendar-app still shows the date time as matching the user's input
even after calendar-app restarts, it must also have the same bug in reverse
when loading events from EDS.
-
