[Dx-packages] [Bug 1436211] Re: Remove GTK3 from phone images

2015-08-22 Thread Lars Uebernickel
litimezonemap contains gtk3 widgets that are used in unity7's system
settings. Can we make unity-system-settings not depend on it?

Bug description:
This is a wishlist bug to eventually remove GTK3 from Ubuntu Phone
  images to save some space.

  ===TODO===

  -- address-book-service --

address-book-service depends on evolution-data-server, which depends
on GTK3. evolution-data-server further depends on libgweather-3-6 and
libgcr-ui-3-1 which both directly depend on GTK3 too.

Would it be possible to work with libfolks-eds25 and other libraries
alone? Or would it be possible to modify evolution-data-server
building to not depend on GTK3 since we're not using the toolkit
  anyway?

  -- themes (unity-asset-pool, adwaita-icon-theme...) --

  humanity-icon-theme, ubuntu-mono and unity-asset-pool depend on
  adwaita-icon-theme. adwaita-icon-theme directly depends on GTK3.

  -- ubuntu-system-settings --

ubuntu-system-settings depends on libtimezonemap1 which directly
depends on GTK3. Maybe the library could be made not to depend on
  GTK3?

  ===DONE===
  -- gnome-control-center-signon --
Since libaccount-plugin-1.0-0 is included on Ubuntu Phone images, would it be
possible to refactor it so that it would not depend on GTK3 bringing it on the
images?

[REGRESSION] cannot switch to a given window after showing desktop

Status in unity package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
This is a regression which has appeared either in 14.10 or 15.04, as
  it didn't exist in 14.04.

This is 100% systematically reproducible for me.

  1. have a few windows of the same program open, for example, three terminal
windows
  2. make sure all of them are visible and one is focused
  3. hit Ctrl+Super+D so that all windows are hidden and the desktop is shown
  4. click on the terminal icon (or the icon of whatever example program we are
testing the issue against) on the Launcher
= one of the windows becomes visible, foreground and focused, as expected.
But suppose you want to switch to one of the other ones
  5. click on the launcher icon again
  6. pick any window other than the one that was focused in the previous step

Expected result: that window should be brought to front and given
  focus

  Observed result:
the window does the animation as if it was going to be brought to front, but
then vanishes, and is not visible at all
the previous window is still on the foreground but no longer focused.
No visible window is focused at all.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1320634] Re: The blacklisted-media-players key doesn't work

2015-08-22 Thread Lars Uebernickel
Indeed, the blacklisted-media-players settings key hasn't been honored
for a couple of ubuntu releases.

The idea is that applications have UI to disable integration into the
sound menu. For example in VLC, you can disable it in Preferences (look
for DBus control interface). It might make sense to disable it by
default for this app.

I only want Audacious show in the sound menu. So I removed vlc from the

far everything works as supposed, but when I start vlc it adds itself to the
interested-media-players and apears in the sound menu and stays there after
vlc is closed
At this point vlc is still in theblacklisted-media-players. that should
override the interested-media-players tag, but doesn't.

I've also tested this with Rhythmbox; same problem.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1487707] [NEW] QMenu aboutToShow signal is not sent

2015-08-22 Thread Ivan Brezina
Public bug reported:

On Ubuntu 15.04 dynamic menu changes are not reflected in QT4/QT5 applications.
Attached sample application enables/disables menu items before menu is shown,
but this does not work when global menu is used.
It can be compiled by both qmake(qt5) and qmake-qt4. Since aboutToShow signal
is not delivered to the application, it can not dynamically adjust QMenu fields.

Moreover I noticed that env. varible APPMENU_DISPLAY_BOTH=1 works only
with qt4 applications.
