Re: [Dx-packages] [Bug 987060] Re: massive memory leak in unity-panel-service and hud-service when invoking the hud on Firefox profiles with large amounts of bookmarks LTS 12.04 14.04

This is weird, since we don't check the inner of docs, but just the
menus. Maybe it was exporting many bookmarks?

However can you provide a sample of PDF that is causing this, and
steps how to reproduce?

[Dx-packages] [Bug 987060] Re: massive memory leak in unity-panel-service and hud-service when invoking the hud on Firefox profiles with large amounts of bookmarks LTS 12.04 14.04

2015-10-19 Thread Dave Barker
The document is a compressed PDF of about 4 megabytes, it's mostly text
but with some images. It's about 240 pages long, but you're right it has
a detailed index. I can't share it here though unfortunately, it's a
commercial ebook. (Drop me an email at k...@kzar.co.uk , I'll share it
with you for purposes of reproducing this issue if you promise not to
share it and delete it afterwards.)

Steps to reproduce? Just leave the file on your desktop!

Status in indicator-bluetooth package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  1) Device: Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition
   OS: Ubuntu 15.04 (r68) - armhf (20150724-020304)
  2) Bluez version 4.101-0ubuntu25
   indicator-bluetooth version 0.0.6+14.10.20141006-0ubuntu1

  3) When trying to connect a bluetooth keyboard (SilverCrest SBT 3.0 A1),
pairing doesn't follow correct procedure.
  On other devices (Android 5.1.1 on Nexus 10; Ubuntu 15.04 on BTO laptop) a 6
digit number is displayed, which needs to be typed on the Bluetooth keyboard,
followed by pressing [Enter].

  4) On Ubuntu touch, a dialogue appears asking to enter a 4 digit PIN
  on the phone. Default is '' and at first the phone says the device
  is connected, but the phone does not respond to any input from the
  keyboard. After some time the phone indicates the device is not
  connected.

  All of this is similarly described in this askubuntu article:
  http://askubuntu.com/questions/625533/how-to-pair-external-bluetooth-
  keyboard-to-ubuntu-touch-bq-phone, which has not received any answers
  as of yet.

  I am willing to follow instructions and report back results. i have
  adb shell installed on my laptop, and Terminal app installed on the
  phone. Developer mode is on.

Bug description:
  Right now the user doesn't have any way to find out on which Bluetooth
  profiles he is connected. The only thing he knows from the settings
  app or the bluetooth indicator is that he is connected in some way
  with a remote bluetooth device.

  Android for example allows you to select for what you want to use a
  known and auto connectable bluetooth device. For example it lists:

   * phone audio
   * media audio
   * contact sharing

  where each of those points is an alias for one or more profiles (phone
  audio: HFP/HSP, media-audio: A2DP AVCTP .., contact-sharing: PBAP).

  We should at minimum list the profiles the user is connected to at the
  moment in the settings application on the device information page.

  On a next level we could implement a allow/deny preference for a
  device or something similar.
