This bug leads to random GDM freezes. The freeze occurs when I start a
new application through Gnome's application launcher. It is possible
that this bug affects 9.10 as well. I assume but do not really know
that it is caused by the gdm package.

The .xsession-errors file looks like this, I guess only the last few
  lines are relevant.

Nothing. Using my netbook as usual. Did not really notice when this started

accounts-daemon is using lots o CPU cycles and memory. Stats above are after
restarting daemon for several times. Before this memory usage was >60%; CPU -
100%.

In file attached you should be able to see there's a loop checking
for something repeatedly. Not sure this is the cause though, but feels
  like it..

It's the first time I've noticed this problem, but I often leave my computer
running unattended so I cannot tell if it's really the first time it happened.

Title:
Notification - If the cursor is placed over a NotifyOSD notification,
the notification does not time out

Status in Ayatana Design:
  Fix Committed
Status in notify-osd package in Ubuntu:
  In Progress

Bug description:
Bug: If a user places their cursor over a notify osd notification, it
does not time out until they move their cursor off the notification.
During this period it remains in it's blurred state.

  To reproduce:
  1. Generate a notification with the following command: notify-send "this is a
test"
  2. Move the cursor over the notification

Current incorrect behaviour: The notification persists until the
cursor is moved off the notification

Correct desired behaviour: The position of the cursor should have no
effect on the notification time out. The notification should
disappear as normal when it times out irrespective of the cursor
  position

Bug description:
unity-panel-service and hud-service quickly racks up memory and CPU
usage until I kill it when invoking the HUD on Firefox. It's taking
anywhere from a few minutes to half an hour, but it sometimes makes
  the system completely unusable.

  1. run Firefox 12.0 in the foreground
  2. hit Alt to bring up HUD
  3. type any text
  4. select one proposal from HUD
  5. wait for unity-panel-service and hud-service to fill up the remaining RAM
and swap space.

This is due to a high number of bookmarks in a user profile
  (hundreds).

  Binary package hint: unity

This is the only Unity launcher item with no right-click quicklist.

To me it seems important to have consistency. Though of course we know
that we shouldn't just add things for the sake of it.

I don't know if added "Switch to Workspace X" options is considered a
  good idea?

  Update dependency on systemd-services

Status in indicator-session package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
systemd-services is a virtual package provided by systemd for
  transitional purposes.

Please update the dependency to directly depend on systemd instead (or
if a dependency on a working logind session is required, a dependency
on libpam-systemd might be more suitable)

Drop dependency on systemd-shim (and replace system-services)

Status in indicator-datetime package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
The package declares a dependency on systemd-shim.
With systemd being the default init, this dependency is no longer required
and actually wanted.

The dependency on systemd-services should also either be replaced with
a dependency on systemd (or libpam-systemd, depending on whether it
  needs logind) or simply dropped.
