Status in Canonical System Image:

Status in Ubuntu Calendar App:

Status in Ubuntu UX:

Status in indicator-datetime package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  The calendar app does not use the standard notification system. You
  can't find it in the "Notifications" area of System Settings, and it
  uses its own notification sound regardless of what is set in "Sound".

  Also, reminders are not muted when the phone is in silent mode (I
  guess it's related).

  I'm on bq Aquaris, r20 and with the latest calendar-app.

  --- --- --- ---
  UX Comment:

  Calendar Notifications need to be overhauled:
  -- Calendar Notifications are displayed for too brief a period and should
conform to the same timing as other notifications.

  -- Calendar Notifications are not currently appearing in the
  notification tray within indicators and should be.

  -- Calendar Notification title is misleading ('Alarm') and should make
  clear that the notification relates to a calendar event ('Event') and
  not a alarm-clock event.

  -- Calendar Notification's should NOT override silent mode (unlike
  clock-alarms) although the notification should still be displayed,
  appear in the notification within indicators and cause the device to
  vibrate (if enabled) - This is accepted/common behaviour for
  notifications of this type on mobile.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1470767] Re: No audible warning about low battery charge

2015-12-15 Thread Sebastien Bacher
So currently the ubuntu-touch-sounds package has 2 directories,
"notifications" and "ringtones", the notifications are listed in the
messaging sound choice and the alarm, where ringtones is listed by the
dialer sound choice ...

we could either add that to "notifications" and have it listed in the
UIs previously mentioned, or install it in another directory/as a
private technical detail (in which case maybe it would be better to ship
it with the indicator if it's specific to it)

I would like some design input on that before uploading

  1. Hold down Alt and keep it held down.
  2. Press and release the key above Tab (Grave, or `). Keep alt held down.

  While Alt is held down, the drop shadows for the window or windows of
  the current application will keep building up and then going back to
  normal and building up again. It's almost as though the windows are
  being redrawn may times per second into a buffer without clearing it
  first each time (but clearing it every second or so).

  While this is happening, I notice that the drop shadow for the top bar
  does the same thing. This can also be observed if one uses Alt-Tab to
  select an app that has multiple windows that then expand out into a
  similar display.

  I've observed this on systems with Intel, NVIDIA, and ATI display hardware,
so I don't think it's hardware-specific.
  All my Ubuntu systems have 2 or 3 monitors. I suspect multiple monitors are
needed to reproduce this.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1436211] Re: Remove GTK3 from phone images

2015-12-15 Thread Charles Kerr
>From cursory grepping, it looks like evolution-data-server's direct use
of gtk+ is limited to (a) generating documentation with gtk-doc and (b)
loading gtk modules when running tests with the environment variable
'EDS_TESTING' set.

libgweather's got a harder dependency on gtk, but evolution-data-
server's use of libgweather is optional and can be turned off in its
configure script with --disable-gtk, which also disables its use of gcr

Bug description:
  This is a wishlist bug to eventually remove GTK3 from Ubuntu Phone
  images to save some space.

  ===TODO===

  -- address-book-service --

  address-book-service depends on evolution-data-server, which depends
  on GTK3. evolution-data-server further depends on libgweather-3-6 and
  libgcr-ui-3-1 which both directly depend on GTK3 too.

  Would it be possible to work with libfolks-eds25 and other libraries
  alone? Or would it be possible to modify evolution-data-server
  building to not depend on GTK3 since we're not using the toolkit
  anyway?

  -- themes (unity-asset-pool, adwaita-icon-theme...) --

  humanity-icon-theme, ubuntu-mono and unity-asset-pool depend on
  adwaita-icon-theme. adwaita-icon-theme directly depends on GTK3.

  -- ubuntu-system-settings --

  ubuntu-system-settings depends on libtimezonemap1 which directly
  depends on GTK3. Maybe the library could be made not to depend on
  GTK3?

  ===DONE===
  -- gnome-control-center-signon --
  Since libaccount-plugin-1.0-0 is included on Ubuntu Phone images, would it be
possible to refactor it so that it would not depend on GTK3 bringing it on the
images?

Bug description:
  We have decided to disable online search results in the dash by
  default.

  Changes needed are as follows:

  1. "Include online search results" from Security & Privacy in Systems
Settings should be OFF by default.
  2. Amazon & Skimlinks to remain off by default and search results to not be
generated without explicitly turning on those filters.
  3. Music store option to be fully removed in 16.04 and beyond. I'll take
advice on what the best option is for older supported releases.
  4. The following scopes to be moved to Universe:
  * Audacious
  * Clementine
  * gmusicbrowser
  * Gourmet
  * Guayadeque
  * Musique (note: unity-scope-musique)

Bug description:
  This is a wishlist bug to eventually remove GTK3 from Ubuntu Phone
  images to save some space.

  ===TODO===

  -- address-book-service --

  address-book-service depends on evolution-data-server, which depends
  on GTK3. evolution-data-server further depends on libgweather-3-6 and
  libgcr-ui-3-1 which both directly depend on GTK3 too.

  Would it be possible to work with libfolks-eds25 and other libraries
  alone? Or would it be possible to modify evolution-data-server
  building to not depend on GTK3 since we're not using the toolkit
  anyway?

  -- themes (unity-asset-pool, adwaita-icon-theme...) --

  humanity-icon-theme, ubuntu-mono and unity-asset-pool depend on
  adwaita-icon-theme. adwaita-icon-theme directly depends on GTK3.

  -- ubuntu-system-settings --

  ubuntu-system-settings depends on libtimezonemap1 which directly
  depends on GTK3. Maybe the library could be made not to depend on
  GTK3?

  ===DONE===
  -- gnome-control-center-signon --
  Since libaccount-plugin-1.0-0 is included on Ubuntu Phone images, would it be
possible to refactor it so that it would not depend on GTK3 bringing it on the
images?
