[Dx-packages] [Bug 1630033] [NEW] Logout always asks about rebooting to finish installing updates

2016-10-03 Thread D Tangman
Public bug reported:

I am logged into a gnome-flashback compiz session. When I click on the
icon in the upper right corner of the screen and select "Log Out..."
from the resulting menu, I always get a dialog with the following
content:

Are you sure you want to close all programs and log out?
Some software updates won't be applied until the computer next restarts.

It doesn't seem to matter how many times I reboot the system, this
dialog is always presented on logout. If I switch back to a default
Ubuntu session (Unity? I'm doing this from memory, so all I can say for
certain is that it's the choice that isn't one of the flashback options)
I get a dialog that asks me if I'm sure I want to log out, with options
to log out or to lock the screen and no mention of needing to finish
installing software updates.

I have looked at the code in indicator-session/src/backend-
dbus/actions.c, where this message is generated, and have been unable to
determine what condition would allow a flashback session to log out
without producing the dialogue shown above.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1629580] Re: firefox keyboard not showing up (gmail, ...)

2016-10-03 Thread Larry Price
Thanks for your bug submission. This should be filed against libertine,
but it would be a duplicate of this bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/libertine/+bug/1597646 . I would recommend
marking yourself as being affected by that bug.

Marking Invalid here.

Bug description:
  Hello,

  I'm using Ubuntu 15.04 (OTA13) on my Aquarius M10.
Now the keyboard shows up at least in google and other websites, but I can't
connect to my gmail account, because the keyboard doesn't show up when the
password of the gmail account is asked. I was able to write my email account
with the kb, but not the password (because no kb).
This might also appear at other text box input, but I don't have any other
proof. Firefox 44 is installed.

  Thank you

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1588526] Re: Alarm doesn't ring when screen locked

2016-10-03 Thread RAMupgrade
UPDATE (Nexus 4, OTA 13 as daily driver)

After some testing, I can confirm:

Clock vibration setting: makes no difference, problem still occurs.
Plugged in and charging: makes no difference, problem still occurs.
   Restarting phone: resolves problem temporarily.

Alarm sounded this morning as expected, after restart (not reset).
Problem appears to develop over time. Suggests unresolved conflict or
leak somewhere.

Observation:
I notice that SMS notifications do not suffer the same issue. The sleeping
phone will always beep and show a light for incoming SMS even when it ignores
the alarm. Same goes for incoming phone calls. Only the alarm clock fails to
wake the phone.

Bug description:
Since being standardised XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP supports specifying
multiple Desktop Names seperated by a colon, however many of the
patches in Ubuntu pre-date this change so don't correctly support the
  current format in some cases.

These days XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP will look something like
  Unity
  GNOME (gnome-shell)
  GNOME-Classic:GNOME (gnome-shell classic mode)
GNOME-Flashback:Unity (Flashback sesison, although upstream and debian use
GNOME-Flashack:GNOME for this)

Many of the patches only check for == "Unity" or == "GNOME", so
misbehave for the latter cases in the list above.

I suspect this will be more widespread than just nautilus, but fixing
that would be a good start. Since most of this code is still Ubuntu
specific (upstream mainly use XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP for onlyShowIn etc),
probably taking the last value in the string would get the desired
result of Unity vs GNOME3 behaviour
