[Dx-packages] [Bug 1818246] Re: update-notifier's notification is huge due to large icon

2019-03-01 Thread Ken VanDine
** Tags added: rls-dd-incoming

** Package changed: notification-daemon (Ubuntu) => gnome-shell (Ubuntu)

** Description changed:

  On disco I've noticed the update-notifier notification is HUGE. I think
  it's using too large of an icon and the notification isn't scaling it
  down. This is either a bug in update-notifier using the wrong icon size
- or notification-daemon should be scaling the icon, I assume the latter.
+ or the shell should be scaling the icon, I assume the latter.

Lock is on

  [Test case]
  0) Set Caps-Lock on in your keyboard
  1) Open dash, and write something
  2) Ctrl+A should select all the text, Ctrl+C should copy,
     Ctrl+V should paste and Ctrl+X should cut

  Currently they don't work unless caps-lock is turned off

  [Possible regression]
  Ctrl+[letter] shortcuts or Ins based shortcuts for text selection handling

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1390120] Re: Manually set time and date reverts to Automatically on restart (Ubuntu Phone)

2015-05-19 Thread Ken VanDine
The bug isn't really about changing the time, it's about changing
automatic and manual. We've figured out that this fix is only part of
the problem. This works well if the device is read/write but it still
doesn't persist after reboot. We need to figure out where the daemon is
writing the state to and add it to the white list for writable paths.

Title:
  expose battery charging state on the bus

Status in indicator-power package in Ubuntu:
  In Progress
Status in ubuntu-system-settings package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Requested by kenvandine in #ubuntu-touch on freenode for u-s-s to show
  the right battery status.

  He needs it for bug 1329702. Since that's a proprietary bug that can't
  affect multiple projects, this is a separately filed ticket.

  Since this for the qml in u-s-s, this should be a GAction state
  similar to how auto-brightness' state is exposed.

  1. Go to System Settings Battery.
  2. Look at the icons at the ends of the Display brightness slider.

  What you see:
  * The minimum-brightness icon is a light bulb with no rays.
  * The maximum-brightness icon is a light bulb with rays and a lightning bolt
inside it.

  What you should see:
  * The minimum-brightness bulb should have rays, because it is not zero
brightness.
  * The maximum-brightness icon does not have a lightning bolt, because that is
strongly associated with battery charging.

Bug description:
  The current phone design has three brightness sliders that do exactly the
same thing:
  * System Settings  Brightness
  * System Settings  Battery
  * the Battery menu.

  This is kind of ridiculous. We should get rid of one or two.

  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Power#Settings: 'Display brightness' should
  navigate to a mirror of the 'Brightness' screen.

  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Power#menu-mobile: The brightness slider
  should exactly mirror the one in the Brightness settings panel.
