  [Impact]

  The ownCloud client in Xenial is compiled against Qt 5.5.1. when
  starting the client, the system tray icon does not show up, making the
  application essentially useless.

  See also: https://github.com/owncloud/client/issues/4693.

  [Test case]

  install owncloud-client, run owncloud. It'll open a connection helper
  and should show an icon in the systray but doesn't.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1350621] Re: indicator-power battery with locked screen

2015-08-06 Thread Marco Agnese
Hi Sebastien,
I am using Ubuntu 15.04 64 bit Desktop fully updated. The desktop environment
is the default one, namely Unity.
My laptop is an Asus UX31A.

The issue appears only when the computer is locked therefore I cannot
print the screen. But simply the empty battery symbol is white instead
of red. It seems inconsistent to me.

Cheers,
Marco.

Right now I am on UT 14.04 r303 (mako). How can I update to the release
that includes the fix of the above bug?

Thanks!

Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:

  When I lock the screen while a VirtualBox VM is running in fullscreen,

  As a workaround, it's possible to switch to a workspace without a

  This bug affects other users aswell, see here:

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1305586] Re: Lock screen is unusable when a password dialog has a keyboard/mouse grab

2014-04-23 Thread Marco Biscaro
Probably this bug happens with any window that has keyboard/mouse grab
(not only password dialogs). I've noticed the same problem when using
virtualbox in fullscreen mode (reported as bug #1311036).

  I couldn't type my password or interact with the indicators.

  gnome-screensaver just refuses to lock in this situation, perhaps
  unity could do the same unless it's possible to remove and readd the
  grabs yourself, but I don't think XLib lets you do that (you can only
  remove your own grabs AFAIK).

  Click on the guest session

  mlaverdiere's futher addition:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/733349/comments/2

  My suggestion would be to modify the interaction-design/process like
  this (*=my modification proposal/2 cents!):

  1) start it, if it hasn't been started yet;
  *2) restore it, if it is minimized;
  *3) focus the app, if it's started, not minimized and has not the focus yet;
  4) spread windows (of app), if app is focused and has multiple windows open;
  *5) minimize it if it is in spread-mode (see 4).

  Note that this bug has over 300 comments and several working but
  rejected patches. This means that this feature probably will never
  land in official Unity! So if you want it, you have to use a patched
  version of Unity.

  There is a working patch for 13.04 ( from comment #322,
  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-
  design/+bug/733349/+attachment/3573380/+files/minimize.patch ).
  Somebody should set up a PPA (and note it here) to make it easy to
  install the patched version.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1222602] Re: [regression] [gen3] Mesa 9.2 makes Unity unusable on Atom class hardware and 943/945 graphics controllers

2014-02-19 Thread Marco Ivaldi
I have the same issue by Danny in #65

Workaround suggested in #6 worked for me until I upgraded linux imag
3.11.0-17

Then compiz returned requiring too much resources to the system (cpu and
ram)

I tried to fix with a intel graphic workaround but without benefits.

For me solution suggested in # 67 works.

Do anyone know why?

M.
