Bug description:
upower 0.99 needs uploading for gnome 3.12 to enter ubuntu. It drops
the suspend/hibernate functions, as logind now does that. All major
DEs have support for this,so nearly everything just needs a rebuild.
  This bug tracks the transition.

A transition is required as some features were removed and the SONAME
  was changed

All packages (and build logs) are staged in
  https://launchpad.net/~noskcaj/+archive/upower/+packages

sugar will probably need removing. If a package only needs a rebuild,
mark it fix commited, if something else is needed, in progress.

  cairo-dock-plug-ins: needs rebuilding
gnome-shell - ready, just need to drop upower revert.
  gnome-control-center: WIP
gnome-packagekit: Upower dropped from newest upstream release.
gnome-power-manager: Fixed in newest upstream release. Merge from debian
gnome-session: Done in ppa, needs patches from git or new upstream release
gnome-settings-daemon: 3.12 is ready out of the box, however that also
requires gnome-desktop transition. 3.8 and also u-s-d: I have a package that is
mostly working, however had to cherry-pick quite a few patches and may just be
better to backport 3.12 power plugin. (considering g-s-d patches will be
temporary, but u-s-d not so)
kde: works fine with systemd, suspend broken with upstart, no rebuilds needed
  cinnamon: Rebuild
mate: all mate packages need rebuilding
  python-dbusmock: needs rebuild
sugar: Upstream bug now filed. Unlikely to be ready in time for 14.10. We
should remove this from the archive till the next upstream release
telepathy-mission-control-5: Debian has dropped upower support, so it's done
  wmbattery: needs rebuild
  xfce4-power-manager: Needs rebuilding
xfce4-session: Fixed already, since we switched to logind
  xfce4-settings: Needs rebuild
  xfce4-systemload-plugin: needs rebuild

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1242112] Re: Shutdown/restart dialogue is not working if Cairo-Dock and its Launcher-API-Deamon are running or if another app is registered to LauncherEntry interface of Unity DBus

2014-07-26 Thread Matthieu Baerts
Added DockbarX and Plank projects to this bug report with 'Invalid'
status: It seems this bug affects DockbarX and Plank users.

** Branch unlinked: lp:ubuntu/cairo-dock

** Description changed:

- Using latest stable release (3.3.1). Just upgraded to Saucy Salamander
- in Ubuntu. When cairo dock is set to automatically run at boot up the
- options to shutdown/restart do not work from the top menu panel next to
- the clock. When run manually after boot the shutdown/restart works fine.
- The shutdown/restart options do work fine from cairo dock/terminal but
- just mess up the shutdown/restart from the top menu panel
+ Unity's shutdown/restart dialogue is not working when another application is
registered to LauncherEntry interface of Unity DBus.
+ It seems we have this bug when Cairo-Dock (and its Launcher-API-Deamon),
DockbarX or Plank are launched before Unity.
+
+ [How to reproduce this bug]
+ Simply launch this script at startup (launched before Unity). It will watch
'com.canonical.Unity.LauncherEntry' bus interface:
https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~cairo-dock-team/cairo-dock-plug-ins/plug-ins/view/head:/Dbus/data/cairo-dock-launcher-API-daemon.py

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1242112] Re: Shutdown/restart dialogue is not working if Cairo-Dock and its logout applet are running

2014-05-25 Thread Matthieu Baerts
Hello,

Even if it seems that this bug is due to Unity, as workaround for Cairo-
Dock, we will not enable this Logout applet in the default theme. (The
logout applet is not very useful if you have another panel which also
have a logout applet)

I'll try to update Cairo-Dock packages in Ubuntu Trusty too.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1242112] Re: Shutdown/restart dialogue is not working if Cairo-Dock and its logout applet are running

2014-05-25 Thread Matthieu Baerts
Sorry I misunderstood the problem: you do not have to remove Cairo-
Dock's Logout applet but you've to delay the launching of the dock,
e.g. by adding X-GNOME-Autostart-Delay=5 (or more than 5 seconds) in
this file: ~/.config/autostart/cairo-dock.desktop

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1303731] Re: Status-Notifier plugin of Cairo-Dock is broken when using indicator-application-12.10.1+14.04.20140324 and newer

2014-04-08 Thread Matthieu Baerts
@Indicator Application devs: it seems that the object path
/org/ayatana/indicator/service is no longer available in the bus
com.canonical.indicator.application. Is it an expected change?

Cairo-Dock' Status-Notifier plugin is using it: it calls the Watch() method
of the interface org.ayatana.indicator.service and it checks if the result
(service_version) is bigger than 0.
Does it mean that the use of the Watch() method is no longer needed?

Because the bug is a bit annoying and before having more details about
the removal of the Ayatana's indicator service a workaround has been
added on Cairo-Dock Plug-ins to not check if the Watch() method is
available ;-)

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1303731] Re: Status-Notifier plugin of Cairo-Dock is broken when using indicator-application-12.10.1+14.04.20140324 and newer

2014-04-07 Thread Matthieu Baerts
Hello Indicator Application devs,

On a Cairo-Dock session ($XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP == Unity ;
$DESKTOP_SESSION == cairo-dock), the Status-Notifier plugin of Cairo-
Dock is broken when using the version 12.10.1+14.04.20140324 (or newer)
of Indicator Application.

Do you have any idea why Cairo-Dock's plugin is broken now? It seems that
'nm-applet' and 'indicator-application-service' are correctly launched.
Is it possible that Indicator Application is now restricted to some sessions?
Or did you change some DBus signals?

(sorry, we are currently very busy... any help to fix this bug is
welcome ;-) )

  When using indicator-application-12.10.1+14.04.20140324 (or newer),
Status-Notifier plugin seems broken: I can't no longer see applications like
nm-applet and dropbox.
I'll try to provide some debug log ASAP!
