  device volumes

Status in Canonical System Image:

Status in Ubuntu UX:

Status in indicator-bluetooth package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
Connect a bluetooth audio device (headset, speakers) to the ubuntu
  phone.

Play music/enter into a call, so that you have active audio to the
  device.

Adjust the volume, using the UI or keys on the ubuntu phone.

The volume of the bluetooth headset changes (good) but the ui contains
no clue that this is what the phone is doing (less good). The standard
volume indicator is shown. This can lead to user confusion if they are
not currently using the paired bluetooth accessory, and have forgotten
it is paired. On other devices the volume indicator changes to provide
visual feedback that the bluetooth device volume is being set.

  --

  Desired resolution:

Please use this icon to replace the volume icon. The icon is bluetooth
volume which we had design already.

2015-09-25 Thread Olga Kemmet

Does the device detect the headset and is it somehow surfaced in the device UI?
Do you have any screenshots what is happening on the UI during that instance?

  Problem:
If user receives an SMS/call, snap decision for incoming SMS/call stays on
screen for always only 60sec. and then disappears from screen (by default).
There was no interaction from user.

  Possible solution:
The snap decision should stay on screen for the amount of time the app asks
it to, being always app dependant.
A 60sec. time-out is too short due to use cases where an action from user is
mandatory.

Use case example: A class 1/2 SMS arrives after user triggered a USSD
command from dialer. These type of SMS always requires a response from
user (CANCEL or a further COMMAND). Thus a timeout of only 60 sec is
too short because it can be missed and these type of SMS is NOT saved
  into the usual messages thread.

Most likely Paty is going to be the person working on indicators and
greeter related stuff. However, we are in the mids of prepping for the Cape

Just go ahead with your plan and we will keep you posted.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 935750] Re: [scopes] Search field not common to lenses

2015-01-20 Thread Olga Kemmet
** Summary changed:

- Search field not common to lenses
+ [scopes] Search field not common to lenses

** Description changed:

After typing in the home lens's search field and seeing no results, I
figured I was using the wrong lens so I switched to another one. Because
the search field is specific to the lens, I had to retype my search
  terms.

I didn't realize until I started this report that the home lens search
would search all the lenses. (Or, I'm assuming that's what it does now,
based on a different search which produced results.)
+
+ -
+
+ UPDATE: This is a bug for the desktop, Unity7.

** Summary changed:

- [scopes] Search field not common to lenses
+ [dash] Search field not common to lenses

** Changed in: ubuntu-ux

I use my phone to play music on random while I'm driving. This works
great except when I want to advance or pause the song, where I have to
go through the greeter first to access the player. This can either
take my attention away from driving or I need to wait until the next
stop light to advance the song. This is less of a concern when the
greeter can just be swiped with one gesture, but is a big concern if
you enable the passcode lock where you have to add the passcode to
  access the player.

If the music is playing, the greeter should allow rudimentary
manipulation of the music, eg, pause/play and forward/back. Other
platforms seem to allow for this (eg android).

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1358340] Re: [Indicators] Complete greeter profiles

2015-01-05 Thread Olga Kemmet
And the default for A should be off and the default for B should be on?
I would say yes, at least for the time being.
Maybe an easier overview of these settings for the user is needed.
[A] - always allow
[B] - restricted access
[C] - no access
They obviously will need better wording and some explanation to users what they
set. :)
The default would be [A]. And anything else can be set by the user. I feel that
currently it is rather confusing.

  To reproduce:-

  1. In ubuntu system settings - accounts, add a google or twitter account
  2. Once created, enable the Notifications option in the account
  3. Wait (also rebooting the phone can trigger this)
  4. Tweets / email notifications are shown as notifications

  Expected behaviour

  * Pull down the messaging indicator and find lots of notifications to clear
  * Find a button easily to clear the notifications

  Actual behaviour

  * Pull down the messaging indicator and find lots of notifications to clear
  * Have to scroll many many times to get to the bottom of a gigantic list of
notifications before finding the [Clear all] button.

In my opinion clear should be easier to find and hit
