Title:
Copy-paste and text selection doesn't work when caps-lock is on

Status in nux package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released
Status in nux source package in Xenial:
  Fix Committed

Bug description:
  [Impact]
Text entry doesn't properly accept Ctrl+[letter] based shortcuts when Caps
Lock is on

  [Test case]
  0) Set Caps-Lock on in your keyboard
  1) Open dash, and write something
  2) Ctrl+A should select all the text, Ctrl+C should copy,
Ctrl+V should paste and Ctrl+X should cut

Currently they don't work unless caps-lock is turned off

  [Possible regression]
Ctrl+[letter] shortcuts or Ins based shortcuts for text selection handling
won't work anymore

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1666833] Re: GTK overlay scrollbars never appear at small window sizes

2017-02-22 Thread dinamic
not only that but past a certain size it doesn't even rearanges the
files, so a lot of files are not in the view, probably that's why the
scroolbar don't appear because they are not in view, it's like the view
is clipped

GTK overlay scrollbars never appear at small window sizes, at least in
  Unity8.

  Test case:
1. In Unity8 launch "Files".
2. Navigate to a folder with lots of files/icons.
3. Resize the window as small as it will go.
4. Slowly move the mouse so the cursor enters from the right side of the
window.

  Expected: Overlay scrollbars appear
Observed: Overlay scrollbars never appear (unless the window is bigger)

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1370791] Re: [system-settings] When brightness is set to automatic, the slider doesn't show current value

2015-11-24 Thread dinamic
woa woa woa!!! i thought there is something wrong with my screen! i
tried for 2 minutes to adjust the screen brightest only to noticed the
"adjust brightness automatically" was ON. this is very ultra confusing!
disable the slider when "adjust brightness automatically" is ON

Bug description:
On the brightness page, there is a slider to set brightness and a
  checkbox to set it automatically.

When I select the automatic brightness, I was expecting the slider to
show the current brightness level. Instead, it just keeps the old
value manually set. I find this a little confusing: I have a slider
whose value I can change, but will do nothing while the checkbox is
marked, and the value it shows is different from the current
  brightness of the screen.

  : "Because users
have different preferences, the function should also be user-
adjustable. This should be achieved by altering the display brightness
manually while 'Adjust automatically' is checked."

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1478506] Re: Apps change system volume all the time

same thing happens with machines vs machines :P (i have to mute the app

Apps change system volume all the time

Status in Canonical System Image:
  Confirmed
Status in indicator-sound package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
To reproduce, install the app Maroon in trouble from the app store
and play it a little with having sound enabled. Press the volume down
hardware button on the phone. It will temporarily decrease the volume.
However, whenever a new item comes into the scene, it will be on 100%
  volume again.

Setting the system volume to 0 should keep everything at 0.

Please note that this app does *not* have any code to set the volume! Also
this app is one of the upstream Qt QML example demo apps, so this is really how
QML apps are supposed to work (in other words, it is not a badly implemented
app, but really an issue in the system)
