[Dx4win] printers for printing on QSL cards
Ed, I use an HP 895Cxi inkjet. I feed QSL's on full-size 110 pound stock then cut them apart after printing. No problem with feeding. 73, Kris N5KM
[Dx4win] Windows XP and Parallel Port
Well, I finally got around to reinstalling DX4WIN, and lo and behold, the parallel port opens and works OK. Thanks to all who responded, including the info about DirectIO. 73, John, K2CIB - Original Message - From: Jim Reisert [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Dean M. St. Hill [EMAIL PROTECTED]; John F. DX4WIN works perfectly fine with LPT port and Windows XP (an LPT driver is built into DX4WIN). You will need this driver for Writelog, however, As someone else pointed out, the problem sounds like an installation issue. 73 - Jim AD1C --- Dean M. [Dx4win] printers for printing on QSL cards
My cards are set up to take an average size label (clear) in the lower right hand corner or to print directly on the individual cards. You can print up to six or so qso's per card this way. The pre-printed qsl's are one color on colored stock from W4MPY and are less expensive than printing the entire card on an inkjet printer. I use DX4WIN version 5.02 as I had a problem with the current version printing the first card correctly and subsequent cards wrong. I have used an old Deskjet 712C, but like the later model Epsons which will print closer to the edge of the cards. I am using an Epson 2000P photo printer which prints with archival pigmented ink that does not fade with time. I can feed a stack of about 1/2 inch or so and put a new stack on when that one runs out. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Ed Himwich N3HXQ Sent: Wednesday, April 10, 2002 10:53 PM To: Dx4win Subject: [Dx4win] printers for printing on QSL cards Hi, Does anyone know a good printer for printing on QSL cards directly? My injket printer will feed QSL cards but only a few at a time and it tends to jam and/or misfeed. I am hoping that there are some printers more suitable for the task and that work well with DX4WIN.
