[Dx4win] Automatic Backup of Log File

2004-01-11 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I am running version 6.02 and have noticed that my system is not
automatically backing up the log file at the specified time interval, in my
case every 2 minutes, as defined under File/Preferences/QSO/Backup (min). I
have to manually save the file from the pull down File Menu or any QSOs I
have logged during my session will be lost when I exit the program. When I
do manually save the log it writes to the proper .dxl log file in the "Save"
sub-directory and renames the old log file with the .~xl extension. Is
there something I missed during the initial setup to activate the automatic
backup feature of the program? In reading the help files and the manual it
appears that the log file backup should be automatic once a time interval
has been selected.

As a followup to the recent backup thread, Office Depot has Kingston 64mb
flash drives for about $10 after rebates. I just picked up two.

Eric,
You may want to try K4MD>Charlotte-NC,k4md.tzo.com as listed in the DX4win
"Select Internet Address" drop down. K4UP>RockyMount-NC,k4up.tzo.com is also
listed there.

In the DX4win help menu/manual go to "Packet/RTTY Window: Internet
connection." This will show you how to connect to a telnet cluster. Also
check out http://cpcug.org/user/wfeidt/Misc/cluster.html for more info on

[Dx4win] Label Editor Problem

2004-01-11 Thread Milan Gütter
Dr OM's,

in my dx4win6.02 by QSL print I'am using by Label Editor
Custom1 and Custom2 Label setting for two different types of Label
because I'am unable to found a proper predefined Label type
(Why only two Custom Labels? I need three or more!)

For QSL print with different label text, QTH's etc. I have
more different predefined INI Files (Setup Parameters).

The stupid thing is that everytime when I'am merging
the INI File, the Label Editor resets the Label width, height etc. values
in the Custom1 and Custom2 to zeros.
And I must write this Custom1 and Custom2 values again and again.

Exists a way to set and keep this predefined values for ever?
(This same problem exists when upgrading to higher dx4win version - but this
is not so often )

There are few basic node styles. Some have a few different features than
others, Some have local spots, some have WW spots. I prefer the WW spots. If
DLs are hearing us, we can usually hear them.
My node does WW spots. Give it a try if you would like

[Dx4win] merging 2 logs together.

2004-01-11 Thread Eric Wilson
What is the best way to merge 2 logs together? I have one log that I
have uploaded up to logbook of the world in ADIF format and the other
was on my laptop in regular format. I am looking to put my other log on
the logbook of the world.

Thank you,
