[Dx4win] UA9S and UA9W
Last post on this subject. The information about UA9S and UA9W was taken from my DX4WIN log. I still have my old WJ2O log on the hard drive and looked at it. My last post is not as correct as I thought. I think DX4WIN may have made a correction on some of the calls when I transfered them. For ON6NIO - I only put the zone and oblast info in my WJ2O log AFTER the QSL had been received. That info was taken from the card. At this time I accept what DX4WIN prints. But, I still check the zone when / if I receive a QSL card. But, in looking at my WJ2O log files, I found the same confusion we have been discussing. For instance UA9SCD Orenburg Oblast 167 Zone 161979 UA9SHU Orenburg Oblast 167 Zone 17 1981 UA9WCQ Oblast 84 Zone 17 1980 UA9WOT Oblast 84 Zone 171990 I found this confusion in all the UA9S and UA9W calls I could locate. So, who knows what is correct. In a contest I am going to take what the other op sends me and hope for the best when it is scored. I don't use DX4WIN in contests so it is not a problem. I will continue to check my QSL card info against what is in the DX4WIN log and make a correction as needed. Richard C. "Dick" White[EMAIL PROTECTED] Fulton, MO. 65251 :"I'm not over the hill. [Dx4win] Bug setting QSL method on multiple QSOs
Jim, Also, I tried setting the QSL Method to Direct (or Bureau) using Multiple QSO Operations and it would NOT change any QSOs where the QSLRCVD was "Y"...all others, changed the QSL Method to Direct. Must be a bug running around there somewhere! [Dx4win] Setting LoTW Upload/Date/

Go to QSO -> Multiple QSO Operations -> Set QSL Method. You probably have to first create a filter to find all those "Ignored" QSLs, then apply the Set QSL Method operation using that filter. "Other" should probably work fine. Try it and let us know. 73 - Jim AD1C = Jim Reisert AD1C, 7 Charlemont Court, North Chelmsford, MA 01863 USA +978-251-9933, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, http://www.ad1c.com PGP Fingerprint: D8E2 3D78 339F A7F1 8C13 1193 B5D1 4FB6 79D1 70DC From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu May 27 18:32:08 2004 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Jim Reisert AD1C) Date: Thu May 27 18:36:05 2004 Subject: [Dx4win] Bug setting QSL method on multiple QSOs Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> In my log, I selected only QSOs with the QSL Method = Ignore. Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Hello All, I am having a problem in 6.03, with moving the PSK31 call sign from the RX window to the QSO window. When the program initially starts and I am receiving a PSK signal, I double click on the call sign to move it to the QSO window. When I double click on another call sign, it does not seem to recognize it as a call sign and bring up the pop up "do you want to keep this record etc." and then transfer the new call sign to the QSO window. However some random information is put in to the "Notes for this QSO" field. I then have to restart the program to clear this condition but it gets hung again on the next try. Is there something I should set in 603 to make this work ? [Dx4win] UA9S ans UA9W
Please do have a look at these: http://www.cpcug.org/user/wfeidt/Cis/russia.html http://ve9dx.weblink.nbtel.net/oblasts.html However, I wonder what is the real QTH for excample for RT9W (RZ9WWH). They are always giving in contest their QTH as CQ zone 17 http://www.his.com/~wfeidt/Misc/cqc2003.html but in fact, as I have understood, they are in zone 16, http://radio.on.ufanet.ru/rw9wa/RDA/base.asc as their oblast is BA, RDA BA-21. I wonder does anyone have a card from these guys and what does it say about their CQ zone. The main difference stems from CQ using geographic boundaries (i.e. rivers, mountains) when definiing their zones, and Russia using oblasts when defining their callsign structure. The two oblasts under discussion are Orenburg (UA9[S,T]) and Bashkortostan (UA9W). From what I can tell, Bashkortostan (UA9W) is indeed Zone 16. Orenburg is in both Zone 16 (UA9S) and Zone 17 (UA9T). Therefore, for the next release of the country database, I will be changing the zone mapping for UA9S and UA9W back to Zone 16 from Zone 17. I do *not* plan on maintaining callsign/zone exceptions for UA9S and UA9W, unless you are willing to do the detailed greographic and geopolitical research to establish the QTH definitely in one CQ zone or the other. That is what the awards checkers would have to do. Might I suggest, however, using a card from some *other* Zone 17 station whose QTH is not in question. 73 - Jim AD1C = Jim Reisert AD1C, 7 Charlemont Court, North Chelmsford, MA 01863 USA +978-251-9933, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, http://www.ad1c.com PGP Fingerprint: D8E2 3D78 339F A7F1 8C13 1193 B5D1 4FB6 79D1 70DC From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu May 27 10:53:29 2004 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Duane A Calvin) Date: Thu May 27 10:58:56 2004 Subject: [Dx4win] Orion radio files . . . [Dx4win] So did I Bernie {Scanned}
Bernie: I found a new one when I upgraded from 6.02 to 6.03. Jim's new country database really helped out and I picked up a new one on 20 CW. It also cleared up some other issues. My numbers are not near as high as yours but it was number 246 on 20 meters. Sorry we are not going to see you at Ham-Com this year. New ones are getting harder around the Clark house, also! Hope you have been getting in on some of the 6 meter openings, I worked AK3E in Rising Sun, MD last night and thought of you. FYI, Lori is getting married this Saturday at two. [Dx4win] CD Format???
Hello All, Can anyone shed some light on this for me? This fellow in JA says he can not read the CD I sent him because of how it is formatted. I am not familiar with what is 'standard' and what is not, nor am I knowledgeable about what I can do about it. quote May 27th,2004 (10:00z) Hi,Steve, I have just received DX4WIN Ver.6.03 today. Unfortunately the CD-ROM with file system-CDFS sent to me can not be started. Is CDFS file system not common in JA ? My another CD shows 'filesystem UDF'. How can I do to solve this problem ? [Dx4win] UA9S & W - V85 find!
Wow one day on this reflector and I already have one new band country! More on that in a minute. I use to be very serious about working the Russians trying to collect all the Oblasts. I looked at my UA9S and UA9W QSLs and found the following: Prefix Zone 16 Zone 17No Zone UA9S111 2 UA9W3 3 1 (and one scratched out 16 changed to 17 My guess is that the Russians did not know that UA9s and w were zone 16. Many in contests sent 17 and did not realize they were in 16. If my memory is correct there were some UA4W who are in zone 17. I think it depended on which side of the Ural Mountains you were located on. Now back to that new band country. I worked and confirmed V85HY on 30 meters back in 1997. Some how over the years I lost that QSL, or so I thought. Ever since I have been trying to track down JA1WTR to get a new QSL. Yesterday I upgraded my DX4WIN from 4.07 to 6.03 and signed on to this reflector. I happened to see the email threads about the UA9s so I thought I would check my UA9 box and the first card I came to just before the UA9S stack was no other than V85HY. I thought this was too good to be true. But it was. I don't know who to thank for starting the UA9 thread, but thanks for the new country! That was country # 324 on 30 meters. It isn't easy to find new ones on 30 meters here at W3UR. 73 Bernie, W3UR
