[Dx4win] V7 MMTTY Window Problem

2005-06-03 Thread Jim Junkert
I agree with Les, the disappearing RTTY control window is a nuisance. I
created a small peep hole by moving and re-sizing varous open windows and
park the RTTY control panel there. Most of it disappears behind the DX4WIN
windows, but the peep hole allows me to see the Scope. Everything else
seems to be working fine.

Subject: [Dx4win] V7 MMTTY Window Problem

In V7, the MMTTY window opens OK along with the RTTY control window.

However, the control window opens as a separate window outside of DX4WIN.
It will not stay visible upon clicking in any other window including
 typing
in the MMTTY window. It can be brought to the front by clicking on an
exposed portion of it or on its icon in the windows task bar.

Once visible, clicking inside the control window on almost any button
 causes
it to hide behind other DX4WIN windows, although the key click is
 accepted.

I would expect it to behave in the same manner as the other DX4WIN windows
and stay put unless another window overlapping it received the focus.

Is there a setup item to control this or is this a bug?

[Dx4win] RTTY function keys (7.01)

2005-06-03 Thread Tibor M. Blum - IK2SAI
Hy everybody.

After having set al the RTTY (MMTTY) macro I founded that something is
wrong with the label of each macro. The orizontal available space (from
left to right) is less than half of the screen and while you can change the
width of each key you can't modify the overall length.

It is something that should be happened many hears ago with the packet or cw
window, just can't remember.

It is happening just to me (Athlon 1GHz + 640RAM +win XP) or is a bug?

After that I re-email my problem with the qso input window when I am
connected with the cluster: I have no answer about that. Is it possible I am
alone???

I'm running a TS2000X controlled by the ARCP software.

(dx4win is not engaged to control the radio being the ARCP much more
versatile than dx4win on this regard) The band and /or mode change any time
I receive a spot via the cluster and it drive me creazy tring to run the
contest or even searching and pounching on the band. Each time I must check
that all is ok. Some time after having properly set the mode, tring to set
the band, receiving a spot I must return to set again the band. Band an mode
are stable only if I insert a callsign in the call field.

[Dx4win] BV7: Direct printing on QSL cards

2005-06-03 Thread Pete Smith
I just did 6800 QSOs worth, directly on cards, 4 to a sheet, with DX4WIN
6.03; from an economic standpoint it is certainly worth the initial effort.

Radi/Rog,

I'm printing directly from DX4WIN to my qsl cards using a Epson Stylus C84.
My setting for the paper size is still on A4. Details of the 'Print QSL
label' window are:

Label width: 70 mm
Label height: 32 mm
Horz.pitch: 0.00
Vert.pitch: 0.00
Spacing left: 70 mm
Spacing top: 132 mm
Horz.shift: 0.00
Vert.shift: 0.00
Nr across: 1
Nr down: 1
Paper size: A4
Portrait: not selected

Printer properties:
Landscape
Paper size: A4

I'm using qsl cards that have about one quarter of the surface reserved for
printing the qso data (right top corner). Next I put the cards in portrait
position in the printer with the 'printable area' in the left-top corner.

Perhaps you can use the same approach for the settings in BV7.

It works very fine here. Using alternative ink cartridges of just about
12.50 Euro. I bought this Epson printer just because they are cheap and work
fine with alternative cartridges.

Hi Rog,
I questioned the author of BV software: he suggested to use inkjet Epson
printer which can be set for the required paper size :)!
But, for printing several thousands of DX-ped QSL cards it is a bit slow and
expensive solution! As sticking labels in such situation is also too time
consuming, I guess the only solution is to chose the smallest standard
paper size (like DL envelope), stick a QSL in the middle and on right side
of the envelope, and measure margins as it was on the envelope one wish to
print. This will allow using our fast and high-capacity ink cartridge
Laserjet printer. This is the way I figured-out that may solve the issue.
Have a try

Trying to print directly to reserved space on 140x90 cm QSL cards using
DF3CB BV7 software.
My HP Laserjet 4000 printer doesn't support this paper size so using any
other standard format changes all my prepared label position and margin
parameters.
Has anybody solved this problem and how?
