[Dx4win] Wish List

2005-10-18 Thread Tony Lord

Hi all, one thing I would love to see on future version of DX4WIN is as
follows. I receive a number of cards from SWL's confirming that they have
heard me talking to whoever. I always reply to SWL's using the SWL label
printing services of DX4WN. However the label that is printed does not show
to whom I was talking, it just shows SWL's "callsign" and of course my own?
Is it easy to make a change to show the callsign of the station I was
talking to??

[Dx4win] IOTA Status column

2005-10-18 Thread Tony Lord

Hi all, I am probably just being lazy here but can someone help? I am going
for IOTA awards. When I printing off the islands worked report, in the last
column the status is shown. In this column it shows either "S", "M" or "C".
What do these three letters mean? Would appreciate anyone's comments!!

Like any other award:

S = submitted
M = mailed
C = confirmed

[Dx4win] IOTA Status column

2005-10-18 Thread Tony Lord

Dear Jim and others,

Many thanks for your replies. Mailed (M) and confirmed (C) is clear. When
you say submitted (S), do u mean I the report infers that I have actually
submitted entries for an IOTA award (within DX4WIN I mean)?? If this is the
case, then I have a problem because I have not submitted any entries to IOTA
for an award. Looking at the 165 worked islands on my report some 32 are
marked status "S". Any thoughts??

Hi Tony,

You may have either done an IOTA submission in the program (Reports
-> IOTA -> Submission) or when using F2 to confirm QSLs, answered Yes
to the question about submitting those confirmations.

[Dx4win] Computer advice ??

2005-10-18 Thread A. Sewell
Hi Bill,

I bought a new "whiz bang" computer from Dell a couple of months ago.
It is a 9100. Of course, it had no serial ports. Rather than use USB
to serial port adapters I made sure it had some PCI slots. It has 3 PCI
slots along with some Enhanced PCI slots. Luckily none of the PCI slots
were in use so I was able to install 2 two port PCI serial cards I had
from my old computer. These are very reasonably priced from
byterunner.com and easy to install and configure. So now I have four
serial ports as well as 7 USB ports.

I was really surprized at how quickly the USB ports filled up. The
computer came with a USB keyboard and mouse and I had two USB printers
and a USB scanner. So while 7 USB ports may sound like a lot they fill
up fast!

Hi Steve,

does not work. The radio see the control signal but seems that no data are
flowing between DX4WIN and Radio.

Radio com port works properly if used with other programs.

Any other idea?

Regards

Tiziano

Hello Tiziano,

Make sure that you have DTR checked under 'file | preferences |
radio'. Most all rigs require this to be set 'high'. If not the DTR, then
it would be the RTS.
I know that you must have one of them set high.

Let me know if this helps.
