[Dx4win] Custom Awards DX4Win 7.01

2006-04-25 Thread Joseph Young
I found the answer on the W8TTS awards page.

 From the QSO Input Window:
Reports, Custom, Listing yields a long list of custom awards.
How do I select Zone 40 Award from that list and move it to the
drop down Custom Award List in the QSO Input window.
Also, are there sources for other custom awards for DX4Win on the
web?

Thanks

Joe/W6RLL

[Dx4win] ADIF Specs in DX4WIN

2006-04-25 Thread Larry Gauthier (K8UT)
John,

For ADIF import into the DX4WIN RCVD field, the tag is SRX.

I do not know what the STATE tag is... but let me know when you find out!

You might try making a test log with only a couple of
entries and fill in all the blanks. Then export the
ADF and look at it with a text editor.

I am trying to import the output of LoTW and have the
state and counties filled in. No success yet on that
one yet.

[Dx4win] DX4WIN Writelog W5XD Multi-Keyer

2006-04-25 Thread Steve GW4BLE
Anyone using DX4WIN in conjunction with a W5XD (Writelog) Multi-Keyer?

When running Writelog and the Multi-keyer with a 1000MP I successfully key
via the COM port for CW, but for DX4WIN I have to resort to a separate LPT
connection.

Is there any way that DX4WIN will key the COM port via the Multi-keyer?

If they're not the same as the spec, they ought to be:

[Dx4win] Ignore my previous post

2006-04-25 Thread Dick White

I finally found out how to add the DX country I was missing and the list is
now complete. It took me several tries before I found the step I was
missing.

Question: on my first post I received a message saying it was being held
until the moderator could review it for approval. Is this normal
procedure ??? I have been registered on this reflector foe several years. I
only post something one or two times a year and I always get this message. I
never get one on the other reflectors I submit to. If this is standard
procedure, then Ok. If I need to do something different, someone let me
know.

[Dx4win] ADIF County Conversion Software

2006-04-25 Thread Jim Reisert AD1C
In October 2004, I released a program designed aid in the import of
QSO party contest logs into general purpose logging programs,
automating the conversion of county abbreviations (like ADA) into
ADIF-compatible county names (PA,Adams).

Today I released version 2.0 of this program:

http://software.ad1c.us/

This program should work both in DOS and in an MS-DOS window under
all flavors of MS Windows. Type the name of the program by itself to
see the syntax, as well as the complete list of QSO parties supported.

Here are the release notes for the current version:

* Added: DE, HI, KY, LA, MDC, MO, NJ, NV, OK, OR, SC, VA, VT, WA, WV

* Added: 7-land QSO Party, Mid-Atlantic QSO Party, New England QSO Party

* Recognize Writelog-application-specific ADIF tags

* Added warning about county-line QSOs

The program now supports all state QSO parties in Writelog 10.59 as
well as most state QSO parties in N1MM Logger (a few are not
supported yet because the contest sponsors have not provided a list
of abbreviations).

There are a couple things to note:

* Only recommended or official county abbreviations are
recognized. For example, MTE (not MAN) is the correct abbreviation
for Manatee, FL. The program will make its best guess (and show a
warning) if it doesn't recognize an abbreviation.

* County lines are not really supported. The program will give you a
warning, and generate ADIF CNTY tags for each county logged in a
single QSO, but in the same ADIF QSO record (i.e the ADIF QSO record
will have multiple CNTY tags). Your logging program may choose the
first one or last one, or something in between. I have two possible
ways to fix this, but have not decided on one yet:

1. Duplicate the QSO multiple times, once for each county.
2. Use different but unsupported ADIF tags (i.e. CTY2, CTY3, etc.)

If you are a CT user, CT to ADIF already does this conversion. 7QP
will be added shortly.

Please report any bugs, suggestions for improvements, etc. to me
directly. Please spread the word on your logging and state QSO party
reflectors.

[Dx4win] Help

2006-04-25 Thread Dick White

I just had a new computer built. We put the old Hard Drive in the new one as
a slave drive and transferred all the data to the new HD. Using DX4WIN ver
5.03.

For some reason the Ducie Is. prefix VP6/D and the country was dropped and
DX4WIN now shows only 334 DX countries. It also lost my Europa confirmed
QSO, FR/J and changed it to Reunion.

I have tried to put Ducie Is. back in as a country and DX4WIN will not take
it. DX4WIN is set for expert Here is what I did:

file / databases / countries / country-add / mappings-add / call-add / save
changes and exit

After I do the save and exit, the new country is not in the databsase. I put
Ducie in previously, but I can't get it there now.

Help Please. Dick KS0M

Dick,

Your message subject was Help; this is a signal for the reflector software
to hold the request for my manual approval.
