[Dx4win] VICH11.SYS and Win XP Pro x64
Sorry, please ignore my previous post - I missed the entries for 6/8 and 6/9 which pinpointed the problem and the solution of recompiling the driver with an x64 capable compiler. John, K2CIB
[Dx4win] vichw11.sys
Message: 3 Date: Wed, 7 Jun 2006 19:13:00 +0200 I haven't seen much light on this problem. Let me guess what is going on: Obviously, seen from previous posts, DX4WIN checks the operating system identifier during installation to determine which CW driver to use or what library to put it in. If you have copied DX4WIN from another computer, you need to copy the VICHW11.SYS file into the new computer. I suspect that your new operating system, Win XP Pro x64, is not known to DX4WIN, so it does not copy the file, or copies it to the wrong library. Conventional wisdom would suggest that manually copying the file to the drivers directory would solve the problem. But, it is possible that the new operating system requires an entry in the registry in order to load drivers, or a different library is being used. Are there any other DX4WINners out there who are using DX4WIN with Win XP Pro x64 successfully? Before I installed any other software or created any user acounts I installed DX4Win and copied the file. But NO! It do not work now either. I rebooted and tried again. No luck. I copied the file to Dx4Win's map and also to c:\Windows, rebooted and tried again. No, no no! It do not work. What can I do? /Anders

Scott figured it out - he had to configure the jumpers inside his DigiKeyer. 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, 7 Charlemont Court, North Chelmsford, MA 01863 USA +978-251-9933, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, http://www.ad1c.us
[Dx4win] Microsoft Vista Beta 2
Has anyone installed (or is going to install) Microsoft Vista Beta 2 and try to run DX4WIN? 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, 7 Charlemont Court, North Chelmsford, MA 01863 USA +978-251-9933, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, http://www.ad1c.us From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Jun 9 18:28:00 2006 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Tim) Date: Sat Jun 10 01:38:51 2006 Subject: [Dx4win] Rig blaster plus Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Any luck with rig blaster plus, DX4WIN and a OMNI V? I'm on a different mission now... trying to get Rig Control working between my IC746 and DX4WIN, using the built-in CI-V interface in the Microham DigiKeyer. DigiKeyer USB Router Settings: Control: COM8 IC-746 Radio Settings: CI-V Baud Rate: 4800 (although I've tried AUTO and 19200) CI-V Address: 56h CI-V Transceive ON (but have tried OFF) CI-V 731 Mode OFF (although I have tried ON) DX4WIN Software: Second Radio: Type: ICOM 746 Address: 56 Baudrate: 4800 (although I have tried 19200) COM Port: COM8 Poll Rate (ms): 5000(have also tried 1000, same as my MP) Max Tries: 6(default value) DTR High: YES (although have tried to turn off) RTS High: NO In the USB Router, while DX4WIN tries to see the radio, it shows "Open" 4800 8N1 with the red and green arrows blinking. But then eventually DX4WIN says "radio timeout, radio disabled" and then the USB Router shows "closed" Thanks for any pointers! - Scott KA9FOX
[Dx4win] Microham DigiKeyer
Scott, I have it working with MMTTY, but I won't be home for a week to help you out on it. Maybe just knowing it will work helps. I think I got the setup info from Joe Subich, who provides support for microHam. By the way, once you get it working, I'd love to know i f you experience any "hesitation" (randomly timed) in the encode or decode of RTTY. I get it very now and again. 73, Duane On Wed, 07 Jun 2006 18:21:23 -0500 Scott Neader KA9FOX <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> writes: > > > Is anyone on the list using the new MicroHam Digi Keyer? I'm a fan of dx4win but I hate Windows. For years, dx4win run without problems under linux in emulation mode. By version 6.04 things changed and the program dosen't run under Linux anymore. So I reinstalled windows on one PC and it runs stand alone now. I'm not happy with this situation, because I do NOT use the internet with windows under ANY circumsdances. Paul, the programmer of dx4win wrote me, he modifies the vich11.sys / vich11.vxd files. If there are some more hams reporting the same problem, i think that will be a argument to force the changing of programcode. So, I hope for all Linux users and for you, that the things are changeing soon. Please pass this email to the [EMAIL PROTECTED] because the mailing list handles my emails as spam and rejected it. I can't pass him a mail on my own. vy 73 es cu in the pile! Giorgio, DJ9CW
