[Dx4win] Cant open my log file
Hello Just had to do a hard reset on my computer while DX4WIN was NOT running. When I started up again, the INI file was gone, that was easy to get back from my backup. But now it will not my latest log file on my computer. I do have a backup, nut thats a little older, and has not all the QSOs. When I open it up DX4WIN says this is not a DX4WIN log file I guess it is corrupted. Anyone able to get it back? all suggestions welcome 73 de Dick PA3FQA __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Dx4win] Trouble With Help File & Golist
Oops... did not answer your question about Golist. I use Golist, but nowhere on my computer (\DW4Win, \Golist, or \Windows...) do I have a GOLIST32.DLL file. Perhaps you use a different feature than I do? My DX4Win >File >Preferences >ExtData merely points to ...\GOLIST\GOLIST.EXE with the "Enabled" check box clicked. Works for me when I press the key. -larry K8UT - Original Message - From: "Eric Rosenberg" To: "DX4Win Reflector" Sent: Sunday, February 15, 2009 21:55 Subject: [Dx4win] Trouble With Help File & Golist >I can't seem to get the DX4win help funtiopn to work. > > DX4WIN.CHM is in the same directory as DX4WIN.EXE > > GOLIST32.DLL is in the GOLIST directory, which DX4WIN point to in the > preferences file. > > What am I doing wrong? > > Eric W3DQ > Washington, DC > __ > Dx4win mailing list > Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win > Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm > Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net > > This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net > Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Dx4win] Trouble With Help File & Golist
Eric, This problem has been around since Microsoft added security measures for file types that pose a virus or trojan risk (including Help files). You need to "tell" Windows that it's ok to open this file, which you cannot do programmatically from within DX4Win when you press the key. I had the same problem. Here's how I fixed it: -- Close DX4Win. -- Use My Computer to navigate to the /DX4WIN directory. -- Locate the help file DX4WIN.CHM, and double-click on it. -- The Help file should open properly, _OR_ ...you might get a Windows security prompt asking "OK to open this file?". Say yes. -- Close the Help file and My Computer. -- Relaunch DX4Win, click the Help tab. It should now (and evermore) work properly. -larry K8UT - Original Message - From: "Eric Rosenberg" To: "DX4Win Reflector" Sent: Sunday, February 15, 2009 21:55 Subject: [Dx4win] Trouble With Help File & Golist >I can't seem to get the DX4win help funtiopn to work. > > DX4WIN.CHM is in the same directory as DX4WIN.EXE > > GOLIST32.DLL is in the GOLIST directory, which DX4WIN point to in the > preferences file. > > What am I doing wrong? > > Eric W3DQ > Washington, DC > __ > Dx4win mailing list > Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win > Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm > Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net > > This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net > Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
