VP8DLM started today (24 February) from South Shetlands, VP8/H. The
DX4WIN country file identifies it as Antarctica, CE9. If you are
lucky enough to work this one, it will be fixed in the next country
file release in early March. I expect that the call may be used from
Antarctica later in the trip.

Dennis, if it came up as Falklands, then your country file is out of date.

Now that you mention it. Your right, I haven't updated my country files
since I got rev 7.xx a year or so ago... I down loaded the file but have not
installed it. Thanks for the heads up Jim.

[Dx4win] RTTY-related Question

2009-02-25 Thread Howard Dickson
Good afternoon. I have a RTTY-related request for help.

I normally only use RTTY in contests and use N1MM as my logging
software, and I never use the spotting cluster in RTTY contests. That
having been said, this past two weeks I have been desperately trying to
work K5D on as many bands and modes as possible. My problem is this.

When I click on a spot in DX4Win, my rig (Kenwood TS-850s) moves to the
correct frequency (no problem) but, the rig gets set to FSK mode instead
of LSB, which is required for RTTY when using sound-card technology to
generate the code. In FSK mode I can copy the other station's
transmission just fine, but, when I try to transmit myself, the rig does
not get keyed and so no characters are sent. Now, if I switch my rig to
LSB I find that I must shift a few hundred kHz in order to find that
signal again (a major problem when there are many stations on the band
in the immediate area) and in so doing, DX4Win sets the mode in the
program for this QSO to SSB instead of RTTY.

My question is this - is there any way within DX4Win (Preferences
Section) to direct MTTY key the radio, even though it is in FSK mode?
Or, is there some other solution, like directing the radio to go to LSB
instead of FSK mode when a station working RTTY is spotted?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Re: [Dx4win] RTTY-related Question

2009-02-25 Thread ON4AOI
Hi Howard,

You should first setup the mmtty interface that it works the way you like,
This can be done in options under setup MMTTY,

Changing rtty settings in the kenwood ts850-950 rigfile with a text editor
can
Solve the problem with fsk and lsb, but the qso will be saved like SSB not
rtty

The easiest way is to make a small interface like can be seen on my webpage
Or in the dx4win manual that is working in FSK.

[Dx4win] changing award flags

2009-02-25 Thread K6XV
I'm trying to clear my DXCC Mixed Submit flags by going to Reports > Change
Award Flags > DXCC Mixed > Clear Submitted. I go back in and check each call
and verify the Sub has been removed and it seemed to work however as soon as I
call up the DXCC Submissions Report, it resets the flags back to submitted? Why
is this happening? I'm on version 7.02.02.

Thanks,
Bob K6XV

[Dx4win] Downloading from LOTW - DXCC credits into my Dx4win file

2009-02-25 Thread KD3TB
I am current using Dx4win version 7.01 ( not sure if this is the latest). I
would like to download my current confirmed DXCC file through LOTW and then
upload into Dx4win. I would appreciate any suggestions and apologize if
this has been covered recently on the reflector.

The second part of my question - If I already have confirmed boxes checked
in Dx4win, how does the new upload handle this?

Thanks and regards, Irwin KD3TB

That's what's supposed to happen. You cleared the flags, then did a
DXCC submission, which is supposed to set the flags again (so you can
submit the QSOs for DXCC). What did you *expect* to happen?
