things are. I is not a big deal, sorry for the bandwidth and thanks for the

Won't work... the demo mode won't let you export an ADIF file.

Try installing the 8.02 demo alongside your 7.0x installation. You
can read your log into 8.02, then export ADIF for Club Log (I *think*
that should work, though I'm not 100% sure). Don't save your log (the
format will be permanently changed), but the demo version should not
allow you to save it anyway.

The only "major" bug in 8.02 is with the F2 key. There are some minor
issues. I wish Paul would release 8.03 with these fixes, it might
give people more confidence to upgrade.

John,

I normally wait a while to upgrade, but took the plunge with ver 8.02. I
really like it. Fixed a number of small issues from the past, adds new
features like better integration with Lotw, band map, etc. I think most of
the bugs from version 8.01 are fixed with version 8.02.

By the way, nice working you yesterday on 12M CW! You were loud into KY!

Hi John,

If you're using DX4WIN 8.0x, no change is needed. I looked at my ADIF
export and saw this:

Y 20070104 Y

These are all standard ADIF fields. Maybe Club Log needs to be "trained" to
recognized these ADIF fields.

[Dx4win] ADIF export to Club Log

2009-11-16 Thread John Shaw
Hi all,

Can anyone suggest a work around that will get DX4WIN to export LoTW cfm's
in a ADIF. Currently it would seem that it only exports cfm's for cards.

This has come up with exporting logs to Club Log. At present the only way
to apply LoTW cfm to CL statistics is to upload lotwreport.adi on top of you
log from DX4WIN.

That works of but requires more processes to keep track of and when the log
starts to get a bit of size, 10's of MB's uploads to achieve.

[Dx4win] dx4win - windows7 + mmtty

2009-11-16 Thread ON4AOI
Hi all,
Since my windows 7 computer is not home now I can´t test it
But did somebody (windows7) tried to setup mmtty with EXTFSK attached to
dx4win ?
Maybe this could work.
Google after comfsk105

Re: [Dx4win] dx4win crashes when microham router not run

2009-11-16 Thread ON4AOI
Well I did do some more tests now
The microham router doesn´t consume much memory
When it is NOT accesed by a program, it is only
Waiting in the background like so many other programs
Just check the list in taskmanager.

I see no reason why the urouter can not run
all the time in background

Re: [Dx4win] dx4win crashes when microham router not run

2009-11-16 Thread ON4AOI
Like promessed I tried what you asked Bill,
Btw pc = eeepc1000h with XP-home
DX4WIN starts up ok but shutting down the program gives the exception error
It is caused by the WINKEY link in dx4win,
BTW It does it also when you have a separate winkey and you disconnect
it b4 you shut down dx4win.

Re: [Dx4win] dx4win crashes when microham router not run

2009-11-16 Thread Mel
It reminds me of the joke about a guy who goes to the doctor and tells
him: "When I do this it hurts... what should I do?". The doctor replies:
"Just don't do that!".

I have a similar setup and the solution is painfully obvious. Always
start urouter. Why do you NOT want to start it? Urouter should be
started automatically when windows starts. It takes a moment to start
but doesn't consume much resources, about 7MB of VM and almost no CPU.

Maybe Paul could improve the COM port start routines to check for
this... but this is not a priority Kostas.

Re: [Dx4win] dx4win crashes when microham router not run

2009-11-16 Thread ON4AOI
Hi Kostas,
I just installed on my test setup a microHAM MKII + Stationmaster,
It did setup quiet easy except for FSK with FT920, there seems to be a
Problem in the rig. CW-PSK31-AFSK etc is working perfect.
On my test pc the microham router is started minimized when booting up
And I think this is the way it should be, not starting it up then can give
You problems when you connect via USB another device that uses a comport
It takes what is available, since your router isn´t running then it may
conflict
With your settings later on. Don´t compare the behavior of DX4WIN with
WRITELOG
because it is written in a different Code and acts different on comports
being
there or not.
BTW the microham router doesn´t consume very much memory at all so it can be
Started like you know when your computer starts.

Problem of USB comports not being there is a known problem but can´t be
changed

[Dx4win] dx4win crashes when microham router not run

2009-11-16 Thread Kostas Stamatis
I use a microham mk2r+ for interface between dx4win and my rig. I have
assigned some com ports for rig control, ptt, fsk and one port for winkey.
If i run dx4win without to load the microham router, dx4win gives me some
messages that com ports are not there and finally opens. But when i try to
save the log or to simply close the dx4win gives me a message like "an
exception occured! Thread Error: access not allowed (5)". I can not close
dx4win except i terminate it via windows manager. This happens only if i
have winkey selected and not if i have a (usb or normal) com port for cw. I
had the same behaviour with k1el original keyer also and this happens in
ver.7 also.

How Writelog acts? Well when i start Writelog and i have not router running,
it will open normally (without any message) and simply i have not rig
control, ptt, cw, etc. When i run the router all come back normally.

I would like to know if this happens for you also ( i am not sure that this
happens in all computers) and second if you prefer a similar to writelog
behaviour. For example i would like dx4win says that com ports are closed
but continues to work and when i start the router the com ports start
functioning (almost like writelog).

Many times i want just to check the clusters spots and i want to run dx4win
only for this. So i don't want to run the router every time i start dx4win.
Sometimes also i forget to run the router before to run dx4win. It's not a
big problem but an everyday problem for sure. I don't like to see dx4win
crashes. By the way i know that i can have router start with Windows but
because my computer is rather old and i use it for other work also, i don't
like to load many things during startup.
