[Dx4win] Label Printing

2009-12-14 Thread Carl Mason
Hi,
Has anyone had problems printing custom labels in v8.02? For whatever reason I
cannot get the programme to recognise an A4 page with 30 labels on it - 70x30mm
- 3 across/10 down with no spacing between labels. I have changed the font
sizes and removed 'using lines' etc but DX4WIN will not recognise this custom
label. If I switch to Avery standard labels L7160 or L7159 it prints well.
However, if ''Uses lines' is selected the date 'box' line prints the last numer
in that filed no matter what font size is selected!!! The 'Label Editor' also
prevents me choosing the number of QSO's per label. Any help appreciated.

Subject: [Dx4win] Multiple QSOs operation - Frequency - ver.7 to ver.8

 Hi,

I'am using 803 and will upgrade old style frequency
(version 7 and before) to new style (version 8).

The old style (Notes for this QSO) is for example
 7 007/7 008KHz or similar.
All dates I got by dx4win ver.7 and older using radio control,
 no hand writen dates there.

For me the Set freq from QSO Note
(Multiple QSOs operation) in ver 803 works not.

I'am unable to upgrade old style frequency to new style.
The freq1 or freq2 can't upgarde the old dates to new style

 Who can help me?

 73, Milan

[Dx4win] Fw: Label Printing - Fixed

2009-12-14 Thread Carl Mason
Me again.

I think I have solved the problem regarding label printing. I was using the
K9YY_C3 slashed Zero font when I began printing my labels and the date entry
was running over the box lines when 'Using Lines' was selected. I have now
tried several different fonts and ended up with the Slashed Zero Aerial font
and the date now falls within the printed box. Your selection of font may be
important if you are to avoid the same problem when printing lines on your
labels. I then downloaded v8.03 and tried again with the 'Label Editor'
'Custom Label' to try and use the Avery DPS30-100 sheets I had available. With
some 'tweaking' I have now managed to get an acceptable result using a Brother
HL-2035 laser printer.

Happy Christmas,

[Dx4win] 8.03 Problem

2009-12-14 Thread Dusty Chapman
I just downloaded 8.03 to replace 7.07. I am having a small problem.
When trying to use the CW keyboard, hitting any key or macro, keys the rig
with a solid carrier/tone. The only way to turn it off is to shut down my
K3 or go into the CW menu, hit Settings, then Tune, then Off. Needless to
say I didn't have that problem with 7.07. All settings are the same. The
only thing I did differently was to put 8.03 into C:\Amateur Radio\dx4w803
instead of C:\dx4w803. Before 7.07, all my DX4WIN versions were in the
Amateur Radio\ folder, but directions said to put 7.07 in C:\. I am sure
there was a reason for this. I have loaded 8.03 into C:\ and also it is
still in C:\ Amateur Radio\dx4w803. Can I just copy all the files from C:\
Amateur Radio\dx4w803 into C:\dx4w803 or must I import all the stuff into it
from 7.07?

I also attempted to start LPT Driver so that when I use my Top Ten
Devices, that it will work. I right clicked on the file and then hit enter
but I don't think it did anything. When I rebooted, a message came up
telling me to use that LPT file. I said okay and it disappeared. God knows
if I have it working. Anybody know how I can tell if it is indeed working?

I did not get the error code upon starting the program(still using XP
Prof), so did not try that Microsoft DLL thing. I assume that I don't have
to worry about that. Not being a good computer operator, the instructions
from Paul on that DLL thing about sending it to the browser etc. made no
sense to me at all. Any help on these items will be very much appreciated.

Thanks 73,
Dusty - K3WC

[Dx4win] More on Labels

2009-12-14 Thread wo2n
Hi, here's one I have been dealing with for a while. I use a 1x4 label.
I set the size for 1x4

Yet when I print the label it only uses the space of a 1 x 25/8 label.

I tried with regular choice of label, now I use a custom size fits better,
but the label only uses the left side to the width of a 25/8 label.

So how do I get DX4win to Stretch-out the report and use the full label
space?

I'm using and earlier version 5.03 if that matters?
Tnx for reading this.

[Dx4win] we lost the 5th soundcard in 803

2009-12-14 Thread Kostas Stamatis
We could choose one of 5 soundcards in 802. Now we have just 4 soundcards
in 803.
The presentation is much better now as we can see the name of the soundcard.

2009-12-14 Thread Dick Flanagan
At 02:55 PM 12/14/2009, Kostas Stamatis wrote:

I am building a shack PC and would like to install two dedicated PCI
sound cards. They will be used for the usual voice and digital
stuff. When I look on-line for sound cards I am overwhelmed with the
variety available. I am not an audiophile. Can someone recommend a
decent make and model of sound cards I can install in my two PCI
slots? Not the best, but not the cheapest either. I am currently
running Windows XP, soon to be Windows 7.

Thanks.
