Re: [Dx4win] cw keying 8.03
Thought I had tried this before unsuccessfully, John. Maybe I was thinking of that other logging program I used for a while. Oh well... In any case 8.03 seems to be working just fine using the COM port here. I'm using a standard COM port and Win XP. I would suggest that Peter double check his settings and not assume the configuration from .02 was correctly copied to .03. In fact I notice a major improvement. You can now use the same COM port for radio control and CW. I use RTS to supply power to the interface and DTR to key the CW line. I believe this is new in Ver 8.03. This is going to be real handy with my laptop which only has one COM port (which is one more than most ;-). Peter Archibald wrote: Jim: Using DX4WIN on com port. Re: [Dx4win] 8.03 Problem
This is a reply from Dusty off the reflector to Paul and myself Probably you have the same problem if you have K3 and maybe also for ft2000 Guy ON4AOI My radio and DX4WIN are now working properly. I will explain what I did. I have a K3 transceiver and adjusted the PTT command which is defaulted to OFF-OFF. I had it adjusted to RTS-DTR and it worked fine with ver 7.07. After reading some note I picked up someplace, it said to use DTR-OFF which I tried and of course, it didn't work. I then went into DX4WIN -File-Preferences-Radio and checked DTR High and RTS High(which were unchecked in my working ver 7.07). It still did not work. I then changed my K3 back to RTS-DTR and the keyboard worked. Then I went back into DX4WIN and unchecked DTR high and RTS high(one at a time) and with one and then the other, the keyboard still worked and it is still working. Paul, that makes no sense to me at all. In other words, I am right back where I started but now it works properly. I guess all's well that end's well. Thank you for your time. Re: [Dx4win] 8.03 Problem
I have an Icom 756ProII and have the same issue. Works fine under 8.02, locks into xmit as described in 8.03. I've got it connected via a Rigblaster Plus for keying and verified that the configuration settings were identical when I moved from 8.02 to 8.03. I don't believe that the information below described for the K3 would apply to my configuration. Re: [Dx4win] CW Keying 8.03
Hi All, To Debug or solve this problem I like to know what OS people are using. The new driver is ONLY for using the LPT port If needed and has nothing to do with the serial port. As far that I know there is nothing changed in version 8.03 what Is related to the serial port. Tests with reel serial ports and USB to SERIAL ports are working OK here on XP-PRO an VISTA-ULTIMATE with IC7800 and FT920 Guy ON4AOI -Oorspronkelijk bericht- Van: dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net [mailto:dx4win- boun...@mailman.qth.net] Namens Jim Reisert AD1C Verzonden: dinsdag 22 december 2009 18:57 Aan: Peter Archibald CC: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Onderwerp: Re: [Dx4win] CW Keying 8.03 On Tue, Dec 22, 2009 at 7:56 AM, Peter Archibald w4...@arrl.net wrote: Thanks for all the reply's. [Dx4win] Log corruption due to operator error.
Let me preface this by saying (or implying) that there is something wrong with dx4win 803, there isn't. I tried to upgrade to 8.03, following Jim, AD1C's upgrade tips, and somehow I munged the log. Not only was the new log in 8.03 corrupted but the log in 8.02 was also. Fortunately, I have a backup on another networked machine. I use the 'sync' feature of the SyncBack update app. which allows me to maintain a 'synced' (or mirrored) copy of what is on the master, and vice-versa. I turned off the update program before I upgraded, so I still have a working copy of Dx4Win 8.02. My sanity check after an upgrade, is to see if the the DXCC needed report produces the same list, before the upgrade. One thing that is common between both versions is the country file. Maybe this is where I went wrong? Could it be that I used the wrong copy of dx4win.cty? Sorry for taking up bandwidth describing my particular situation. Maybe it could be apropos to other users. No doubt, this is a result of operator error :-) Any ideas?
