[Dx4win] K3 with older version of DX4WIN 7.01
Is there anyone using the older version of DX4WIN and a Elecraft K3.no choice in the preferences for chosing the K3. I have the K3 talking to the laptop with Ham Radio Deluxe, but would like to have the K3 working also.. [Dx4win] New version has errors in Needed listing.
I recently updated Dx4win to 8.04 and found the following mysterious errors when I examine the "Needed Countries" listing. The following countries _appear_ on the Needed list that I know have been worked and confirmed by me and appear as confirmed when I examine the entries in the log. FO8AT Clipperton K1IMP/KC4 Navassa K4IA/KC4Navassa On the other hand, at least one country I have never worked does _not_ appear on the Needed list Marion Island These anomalies suggest to me that the log is somewhat screwed up. There should be no such errors. DX4Win should have made the necessary adjustments from the old log which was based on DX4Win 7.something. I'm trying to think of ways to go through the log and find other errors which I expect can be found. Can anyone suggest what happened or a fix? When you open those entries in your log, what entity appears? When were the QSOs made and what mode? You can find them using "F8" in the QSO window, entering the call in the "Callsign" window and hitting enter. Good news: I actually worked ZS8MI twice in April 04. Qsl says Marion Island. When I look under F1 in the prefix list, there is no Marion Island but Pr Edward I appears. The location is given as Marion Island with coordinates: S36?52'35'' E37?51'39'' So did I work Marion Island after all, or this a different place? Thanks for your help Rick. That's because the name of the entity is "Prince Edward and Marion Islands", which is why "Pr. Edward & Marion Islands" appears. Do you have the latest country file? Remember that 8.04 ships with an old country file, the one that was available at the time of first release. Are those calls associated with the correct entity? Are the DXCC flag(s) set to Invalid? If you look at the Country window, does it say that the countries are CONFIRMED? Are you doing a DXCC needed listing for MIXED only, or did you select a particular band and/or mode?
