[Dx4win] Radio Polling Interval - What's Too Aggressive?

2011-03-29 Thread Byron Peebles
What's consider to aggressive for the CAT Polling Interval and Retry Counts
for the radio interface?

I am using USB-to-Serial for Radio, Digital Audio, Rotor, Amp and CW Keying.

Is 500ms too often with 12 retries?

Re: [Dx4win] Compare DX4WIN to LoTW version 4.0 - 29 March 2011

2011-03-29 Thread Dave Perry
Jim,

Just ran the new version 4.0 of your compare utility. All my DXCC credits
match perfectly to LOTW. I am using DX4WIN v. 8.04.

Thanks,

Dave, N4QS

I have updated the utility to compare your DX4WIN DXCC credits with
ARRL Logbook of the World: You can download version 4.0 from:

http://dx4win.ad1c.us/lotw/

This version adds full support for the new PJ entities, now that ARRL
has added them to the Award Credit Matrix on LoTW. You must use a
DX4WIN country file from 4 October 2010 or later to get proper
results.

Please let me know if you have any problems.

[Dx4win] DX4WIN.CTY #94 updated Release Notes

2011-03-29 Thread Jim Reisert AD1C
I updated the release notes for DX4WIN.CTY #94:

http://www.country-files.com/dx4win/release.shtml#94

For some reason, I had used an out-of-date list for the callsign exceptions.

I will publish the new files on 1 April or shortly afterwards.  Please
tell me about any additions or corrections before then.

The flags are for the award, they are not for worked/mailed/confirmed status.

Read this application note, it explains how DXCC works:

OKI have FP/K8DD on 30m CW confirmed on LOTW. The boxes under DXCC are
empty. I believe I should put a C in the BAND box. Correct? What about the
MIXED and
MODE boxes? Does not ANY QSO count for MIXED? If I put a C in the mode box, does
this reflect in the reports box that I've worked it on CW? How are these boxes
populated
automatically?

Thanks, Roger

[Dx4win] LoTW

2011-03-29 Thread Rich Chatelain

Hello,

After many years of using DX4WIN I figure I needed to be on the reflector to
get some help. I have never used the LoTW feature within the program. I
definitely need some assistance with using this feature! I have made 1
submission to LoTW last year and so I am good with that part. I did that
submission without using DX4WIN. Now I am ready to do a second submission
and I want to start using DX4WIN but I am totally lost. Is there someone
that is well versed with doing this that I can call and have you walk me
through it for the 1st time?

Thanks,

Roger,

In the help file, under Appendix A, see qfld:Awards. These fields can be
populated manually or automatically when you submit cards for an award.

At the bottom of the QSO window there are several boxes evidently for
awards.
Under DXCC there is MIXED, BAND and MODE. I can find NO explanation of
just what these are for or how to use them.

Help!

It's normal and correct. Jurisdictions that require amateurs keep a log
require that the transmit frequency by logged.
