I hope it's OK that I speak for Garry here.
He has two DX4WIN installations, an older version and 8.05. After
installing 8.05, he ran the Data Updater that was in his old version's
directory, expecting it to update 8.05 also (i.e. update all installed
versions). It did (does) not. He manually copied the data files from
his old (up-to-date) installation to his 8.05 installation and all was
well again.
This prompted me to add the following note to the DX4WIN Data Updater
documentation, in the installation section:
http://dx4win.ad1c.us/updater/index.html#install
NOTE: If you have multiple (different) versions of DX4WIN installed
on your computer, and you want to keep each of them up-to-date, you
must save the DX4WUPD.EXE file in each DX4WIN directory that has a
DX4WIN.EXE file. For example, if you have versions 7.07, 8.01 and 8.05
installed, you will have to save DX4WIN.EXE into the dx4w705, dx4801
and dx4w805 directories. To update a particular version of DX4WIN, you
must run the Updater Program that is saved in that version's
directory.
It seemed obvious to me that you would have to install the updater
into each copy of DX4WIN you have installed, but it apparently wasn't
obvious to everyone, so I added the note.
