Re: [Dx4win] Messed up country window

2012-02-10 Thread Pete Smith N4ZR
Thanks, Jim. I tried that - I assumed you meant to delete the zipfiles
for dx4win.cty and dx4win.awd in the Update directory, so I did that,
and then ran the updater. It reported updating 3 files, but afterward
the dx4win.cty and dx4win.awd files in the main program directory still
reported their old "modified" date. It seemed to me that the updater
ran far too quickly to have downloaded both those rather large files.

What am I doing wrong?

[Dx4win] Q: How to put Skimmer AND (telnet) packet spots in the spots window?

How can I have both Skimmer AND telnet packet spots in the spots window?
It seems as if I can have one or the other, but not both.

Re: [Dx4win] Q: How to put Skimmer AND (telnet) packet spots in the spots window?

2012-02-10 Thread Bud Semon N7CW
One easy way is to log onto a Telnet cluster that has the Skimmer spots in
it's output by default. N7AZ.net does this.

One problem I have with this scenario:

I use the packet filtering in DX4Win so that only spots from zones 3 and 4
are checked against the log. I assumed that 80% of the time, I won't be
able to hear the same guys as you East Coasters. Since DX4Win deletes
earlier spots for the same call, when T6AA is spotted by a west coast
station and then immediately spotted again by an east coast Skimmer, the
spot is grayed out and the alarm doesn't go off. So I miss it - this
happens a lot! My final solution is that when I am in the shack but not
tuning, I use a cluster without Skimmer spots. When I am at the radio and
tuning, I use a cluster with the Skimmer turned on.

Eric,

Are you talking about Skimmer spots generated by your Skimmer...or those
from the clusters?

I use LPT-1 to band switch my Yaesu Quadra.
Works great but not on 6 meters. Can I do something to DX4win that will make it
output the right hex code on 6 meters? It is not an amplifier problem because I
can watch the code comiing from the computer and it is not there on 6 meters..

John,

Check: File | Preferences | Control
and see what setting you have for the active bands.

2012-02-10 Thread Kostas Stamatis
If you are talking abt spots generated from other simmers from yours, in
clusters running ve7cc program (i think are called AR) the commands are:
set/skimmer to turn on
set/noskimmer to turn off
