Re: [Dx4win] Log EQF conversion
Steve, I am sure EQF (Win-EQF) can export to ADIF. Then take the ADIF and import it into DX4WIN. I just checked the Win-EQF website and they have a 30 day trial download, so you should be able to do your conversion with the trial version. http://www.win-eqf.com/ That's what I did about 10 years ago when I switched over from the DOS version of EQF. I hope this helps. 73, Andreas, N6NU On Jun 3, 2012, at 11:19 AM, Stephan Busono wrote: > Fellow DX4Win users, > > AP2DKH sent his log (Log EQF) which is in text form, because I can open it > using notepad and do a search (not very good) from it. [Dx4win] Log EQF conversion
Fellow DX4Win users, AP2DKH sent his log (Log EQF) which is in text form, because I can open it using notepad and do a search (not very good) from it. How do I convert it or import it to DX4Win? Under I/E I saw LogEQF but it was BIN file after dbase conversion, what does this mean? Can someone help so I can import this log to DX4Win ? Re: [Dx4win] Bearing by prefix vs grid
I know that if you type the grid into the grid field on the QSO form, it will point correctly. Low-tech, but effective. [Dx4win] Bearing by prefix vs grid
Very frequently DX spotters on 6 meters put something like "hisgrid > mygrid" in the comments of the spot. When this happens DX4Win calculates the range and bearing to the spotters grid instead of the DX grid or country. That's not very helpful to me. I thought there was a way to ignore the comments field and always calculate the bearing based on the spot's prefix but I sure can't find it now (ver 8.05). Any help? Re: [Dx4win] CW Announcements
I replaced an XP laptop with a Win7 laptop recently (both Dell). I noticed that the CW audio from RUFZ and Morserunner is less loud now, even with headphones, and if I push the gain slider up too far, it gets distorted. On another note, I've always used voice announcements in DX4WIN for announcements, however, lately it seems to be more of an annoyance than help due to some guys feeling the need to announce when they don't hear someone, or thinking a DXpedition will stop what they're doing and QSY to a specific band/mode based on their DX spot/plea for it. A nice feature would be a way to limit repetitive voice and CW announcements for the same station. [Dx4win] CW Announcements
Paul, I read your email regarding the speaker in your computer with some interest. I, too, like having the announcements as I spend a good deal of my time in my shack, but often doing things other than just staring at the screen of the computer. I have been totally unable to get anything which resembles a CW announcement. I'm using WIN7 Home Premium, so there are likely a few differences, but I wonder if using a speaker (with its own volume control) attached to the computer itself might get the job done. I, like many I would expect, thought that the CW announcement in DX4WIN was a thing of the past, but happily, that doesn't appear to be the case. I would appreciate any information/thoughts you (or anyone else, actually) might have about this. It's been a burr under my blanket for quite a while. Re: [Dx4win] Does CW Announce work in Windows 7?
Running Dx4win 8.05 under Windows 7 64-bit, I worked on trying to get CW announcements to work long enough that I thought I was hallucinating. Then I heard some snippets of faint CW. I turned off my FM radio, the shack got very quiet, and it was not just ESP but CW at RST 219. I looked at the Dx4win screen and saw it was indeed CW announcements. Now it made sense. My new computer has a fairly quiet case (Silencio 550) and its "system speaker" (the internal beeper) seems quieter than most. It is a small piezoelectric speaker plugged into the motherboard. If I want to be able to copy this thing, I'm going to have to get a louder one and/or extend its cable to get it outside the case. I reran my tests of Dx4win version 7 and 8 running in the Virtual Machine - XP mode. CW announcements work in this configuration, but they come through the computer's external speakers. XP mode obviously takes commands to the beeper and reroutes them to the normal audio channels. Thanks to those who helped. 73, Paul K5ESW __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
