Re: [Dx4win] Version 9
Hi, Well I can fully agree waiting for a new version, I'll do it too. But and a big but is what has or will be done. Many a program's so called "update" with a new version has turned out to be a "downgrade" so lets hope that is not the case with DX4Win. I maybe also be a Luddite too not wanting to upgrade. I still keep an old DOS ( DXLOG) program current with just QSL's received as I like the summary printouts far better than the DX4Win versions. I'll wait to see what comments appear about the new version, if it ever appears. More than once all being on the cutting edge got me was being hacked up. 73, Bob K2TK ex KN2TKR (1956) & K2TKR On 10/13/2017 4:55 PM, Ricardo Navarrete wrote: Bert I'm totally agree with you, I used other logging programs but nothing like DX4WIN. Yes, I have stuck with DX4WIN for the same reasons… I hope Paul is able to add capability to better support the newer SDR radios like Flex. There are a couple minor changes that would allow DX4WIN to integrate smoother with that type of radio. If Paul is interested I’ll elaborate…. Re: [Dx4win] Packet Filtering
Don't see a reply yet. I am not the best to answer since I let everything through, but some things I do know: DX Alerts are the audible notices. This allows you to specify what you want announced (voice, alarm, etc,) Ignore Gray/Black I think is the highest level you can go to block. I do not think this would work, but, have you tried setting the color for the items you do not want to see to black? Maybe you only want level 1, 2, 3 then set 4+ to black (or gray). Pay careful attention to what each level does. I think there is some overlap. I want new bands and modes for each DXCC and level 6 is more important to me than 4 & 5. I pay attention to all background highlighted spots. That is if I have kept the default spot colors where levels 1, 2, 3 & 6 are highlighted. I may have done that myself (forget since have had Ver 8 since it first came out years ago). The following parameters have been set: Preferences | Packet 1 | DX Alerts = Award Band not conf Preferences | Packet 1 |Options | Spots to Ignore = Gray and Black (this is confirmed to filter out P8 and P9 spots) Yet still I see spots in the packet window of priority 6 and 7 - in addition to those I want of P1-P5 (well I see P2-P5 anyway). Actually the DX Alerts setting doesn't seem to make much difference. Am I doing something wrong or is there a bug? 73 John G4IRN. __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

Are there a lot of features I’d like to see added to DX4Win...? YES...! I’ve looked at other loggers over the years. Some are too simple, some are too complicated, some are too expensive.
