[Dx4win] Help wanted on Log Book

2018-08-15 Thread glyn via DX4WIN
Hello fellow DX4Win`rs

I have a small glitch in DX4Win version 9.4,1

The problem is when I add QSL cards off line then go to print the labels it
shows only one label. But if I close down the program and reload the same
program the QSL labels are there ready for printing.

What is happening here or am I doing something wrong pilot error ?

P/S around 6 months ago a couple of you State side gentlemen agreed to help
me convert my paper logs to ADIF if I scanned my log books. I have now
managed to get my log books scanned into high quality PDF files.

But unfortunately I have inadvertently deleted the file in which I saved
your kind offers and relevant email address.

I have a friend in Scotland who is helping me but I feel embarrassed asking
him to do the whole 6 log books, as the man works and has family commitments
.

I was thinking if I could get additional help from those USA volunteers it
would be fantastic. Please email me again if you have the time to help out
with just one log book conversion into ADIF from a PDF scan.

Then the load would be shared and I would have a full log on DX4win of my
lifetime QSOs before this OLD timer runs out of puff hi.

I really do appreciate my GM friends hard work on my behalf but I feel I
need to lighten his load. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Re: [Dx4win] Not getting WPX credit for AC9 and AC0

2018-08-15 Thread Kostas SV1DPI
Unfortunately they seem to have problems. Except the list and what it
cotains, their main problem is that Lotw and eqsl rules should apply the
contents of the list. This does not work for sure. This stopped me to
continue with my application for wpx award of excellence...

I will talk to the CQ Magazine WPX Award "owner" and try to get a current
list. I agree that USA prefixes like AC0, AC9 and AJ7 should have been
removed from the deleted list a LONG TIME ago.

I also found AJ7T was not credited. AJ7 was also 'incorrectly' in the file.

I just checked the wpxdelt.txt file and the AC9 and AC0 prefixes are in
that file. You need to search the file as the prefixes are NOT in
alphabetical order.

AC9 and AC0 are currently valid USA prefixes, so why are they in the not
current file?

I don't know if thisis the problem but there is a file called
wpxdeltd.txt in save directory. Open it with the notepad and see if ac9 and
ac0 is there. I had a similar problem and while some prefixes was counting
in eqsl, didn't count in dx4win. The problem was in a file with prefixes in
save directory but I don't remember if wpxdeltd.txt was the problem or
another file. I deleted it and I did not update it again as I can not
understand why it is useful.

This file is supposed to list prefixes that have been deleted, i.e. are
not currently valid for the WPX honor roll, according to WPX rules:
"Prefixes will be deleted from the Honor Roll listing ten years after they
are no longer authorized for use by the governing authority or by the ITU".
I suppose since all AC9 and AC0 callsign licenses expired at some point and
no new calls were issued, they met the 10 year rule and found themselves in
this file (among other prefixes).

This effectively means that if we wanted the WPX record in DX4Win to be
accurate (per honor roll rules), the wpxdeltd.txt would have to be updated
on a continuous basis. I've looked around in the CQ Mag website, but I
can't find anything resembling the list of invalid prefixes, so I simply
deleted all entries in this file and kept it blank, rendering all
worked/confirmed prefixes valid.

If anyone knows where this list can be found, let me know and I'll keep
the file up to date and send it to Jim for regular distribution.
