[Dx4win] Packet Connection

2022-07-29 Thread abwltrs
Hello,

I am unable to connect with any spotting network using DX4WIN although all
is Okay using N1MM. My settings in Packet 1 are Regular and TCP/IP.
Cluster node auto connect is LOCAL>cc User, localhost:7300. Callsign K5NOF.
Keep alive 90. My call appears in the Packet Window but nothing. No
connection. So next I try selecting K5DX>Houston-TX from the cluster menu.
My call appears in the Packed Window but no connection. Additionally, I
have tried to launch the band map (DX Spots Sorted by Time/right click/Band
Map and nothing.

In desperation, wondering if a near-by lightning strike could have damaged
the basic code, I copied my original save director to an off board hard
drive, deleted c:\dx4w903 and then downloaded a fresh install, dropped my
license into the folder, replaced the default save directory with my old
save directory, and after a bunch of agony, have all running again except
for the packet connection and the band map window.

Again, all is normal using N1MM. Any help would be appreciated.

Al Walters - K5NOF

Re: [Dx4win] VUCC totals not accurate

2022-07-29 Thread David Perry, N4QS
Mike,

Thanks for suggestion, but that did not fix the problem. No matter how I
set the award flags under the VUCC tab, a confirmed CW contact with AB0S in
EM09 shows W in the VUCC window and on the VUCC report listing. Can anyone
else see what I am talking about?

Thank you. 73, Dave, N4QS

Hello Dave,

There is one more place to check. Starting with the menu bar up at the top:
File > Awards > VUCC Grid
Make sure you have the proper boxes checked under Confirmation, Mode group,
Valid modes, Valid bands, and Award bands. Under Awards, only the Mode box
should be checked.

After all these years, I am just starting to focus on VUCC and FFMA awards
for six meters. For VUCC, my confirmed totals in DX4WIN are about 70 less
that my totals showing on LOTW. (I have very few grids confirmed via QSL
card.) When I open the VUCC window, it is also apparent that confirmations
for CW and SSB are not showing as C. Under Reports, Awards, VUCC tab, I
have all modes selected. The same thing happens when I run a VUCC report
listing - confirmations for CW and SSB on 6 meters do not show up as
confirmed.

For example, for EM09 in Kansas, LOTW shows that grid was confirmed with
AB0S. When I look up that QSO in DX4WIN, the Confirm LOTW box is set for Y
- so it is marked as confirmed in DX4WIN. But in the VUCC window, EM09 only
shows a W in the CW and SSB boxes-there should be a C in the CW box. If I
double click on the 6 at the top, all of my QSOs with EM09 on 6 meters are
shown, and AB0S clearly shows that it was confirmed via LOTW.

So why are these CW and SSB confirmations not showing up in the VUCC window
and on the VUCC reports?

[Dx4win] All my windows are off screen except for the main window.

2022-07-29 Thread David Gould
I am in the middle of trying to get a second monitor working on new W10
machine.   I have what seems to be a common (but not universal problem)
for any windows open on the second monitor move to the first monitor
when the screen wakes up from screen save mode. (OK when I minimize /
maximise or close / open)   Does anyone have a fix for this on W10.   I
understand W11 has fixed this problem.

Anyway while I have been trying various things, all my DX4Win windows
went off screen. There was a tiny fragment of the main window showing,
so I have managed to drag that window back into view.       Is there a
way I can get all the other open windows back into view somewhere?
