[Dx4win] Ver. 6
That's too bad. A friend of mine just ordered DX4WIN and was asked if it could be shipped in a week or two as a new version was coming out. That was a week ago so I wouldn't be surpised to see the new version announced any day now. My friend has DXbase but has been so disappointed with it that he is going to DX4WIN. 73, Alan N5NA - Original Message - From: WL7M [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Sent: Saturday, January 25, 2003 0:23 AM Subject: Re: [Dx4win] Ver. 6 Not soon enough for me - I just bought DXBase. [Dx4win] Search Features
Don, If I want to see the QSO's I have QSL'ed but not confirmed I do a search by putting a date in the QSL Date box and N in the confirmed box. The result is all the QSO's QSL'ed after that date that I have not confirmed. You may have to set QSO Date in Preferences to Greater Equal for that to work. 73, Alan N5NA - Original Message - From: Don Prater [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Sent: Wednesday, January 22, 2003 16:39 PM Subject: [Dx4win] Search Features I would like to be able to search on the Country attributes. For example, QSLs mailed...M or Mailed but not confirmed...M but not C. There may be a way to do this, but I am not aware of it. [Dx4win] External Data Lookup
Roger, I had to look back thru my old emails as I had the same problem. Here is what I am doing to use FGREP. I have placed in the executable program blank on the EXT DATA tab of the preferences - C:\PROGRA~1\QSLMGR\QSL.BAT, without the quotes. Of course, you'll have to set up your paths to wherever FGREP and your data is. I have the files I want to lookup, FGREP, the batch file all in c:\program files\qslmgr. QSL.BAT is the following batch file: FGREP -m %1 @QSL.LST manager.res where QSL.LST is a text file with a list of files FGREP searches. I'll be the first to admit I don't understand how this works but it does and I'm the guy that came up with using FGREP in the first place! 73 GL, Alan N5NA - Original Message - From: Roger D. It worked fine in v3.05! I'm using FGREP to do the search of an external text file. The batch file that runs FGREP is: FGREP -m %1 manager.txt manager.res The output I'm getting is: C:\HAMPRO~1\DX4W407\EXTDATAFGREP -m TF3CW manager.txt 1manager.res Any help greatly appreciated. 73, Roger ___ Dx4win mailing list Dx4win@mailman.qth.net http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win
[Dx4win] 7J1AAI NOT Ogasawara
My version of DX4WIN had 7J1AAI mapped as Ogasawara. The information below I received from Hal, W1NN, indicates it is not and never has been. If you have 7J1AAI in your Ogasawara mapping I would suggest you remove it. 73, Alan N5NA QUOTE Sorry, but 7J1AAI was never used on Ogasawara. I get a lot of QSL cards and many seem to think that 7J1 = Ogasawara, but it's just an ordinary old Tokyo QTH. I believe that DX4WIN has it wrong, and I (and a lot of others) would appreciate it if you could notify the author of DX4WIN that 7J1AAI is NOT Ogasawara. Thanks and I hope we have a chance to work again. 73, Hal W1NN / 7J1AAI UNQUOTE
[Dx4win] Importing dBase logs
Tom, One way to do it is convert it to ADIF and use the ADIF import. Here is a link to a program written by KH2D that converts a comma delimited ascii file to ADIF. You can easily get to comma delimited from Excel. The program is called asc2adif. http://www.vkham.com/Software/downloads.html 73, Alan N5NA - Original Message - From: Tom LeClerc W1TJL [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Sent: Thursday, July 04, 2002 15:23 PM Subject: [Dx4win] Importing dBase logs I have tried a couple of times to import logs from Electronic 2nd Op version 4.04. [Dx4win] A plea for more Multiple QSO Operations
It's easy enough to modify the ADIF file exported from whatever contest program you are using to include a comment. The ADIF format specifies eor at the end of each record in the ADIF file. Just use a text editor to do a find and replace on eor. You would set it up to find eor then replace with comment:232002 ARRL CW DX Contesteor Then import the modified ADIF into DX4WIN. The comment field will place 2002 ARRL CW DX Contest in the Notes For This QSO field. The number after comment: is the length of the field. 73, Alan N5NA - Original Message - From: Jim Reisert [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Larry Alkoff [EMAIL PROTECTED]; dx4win dx4win@mailman.qth.net Sent: Friday, February 22, 2002 8:46 AM Subject: Re: [Dx4win] A plea for more Multiple QSO Operations Yes, you're right, it is tedious, but I don't do it this way. There's a better way. When I import a contest log, I assign it a unique group number. Then I go to Group Selections and create a name for that group. If you then open the Same Call window, the group name is displayed along with the QSO information. I have used 72 groups so far, so only have 182 left (256 - 72 - 2 (YL/QRP)). 73 - Jim AD1C --- Larry Alkoff [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I have just completed pasting info Notes for This QSO nearly 2000 strings consisting of 2002 ARRL CW DX Contest.
