[Dx4win] DX4WIN New Version

2004-04-13 Thread Bob Check
Yes, I will be changing programs soon if we can't get RTTY and the other
fix's changes mentioned, 2 years between updates is way to long!

Heartily concur.so many others have done it - and quite some time ago.

MMTTY interface is *not* planned for the new release, but we have to wait

[Dx4win] RTTY

2004-02-23 Thread Bob Check
Ok here it is apples to apples or oranges ( the apple is RTTY in DX4WIN
and the oranges is PSK in DX4WIN )

In the psk mode when a call sign appears in the rx window and you want
to put it in the qso call window you have 3 ways to do it:
1 ) you CLICK on it with the mouse. POINT AND CLICK or
2 ) you copy and paste it in, slower than the first step or
3) you type it in slower then the first two. Ok for casual contacts and
thats if you can type ( you could have a cast on or whatever you can
imagine. )

Try the first two steps in the rtty mode , in the DX4WIN RTTY RX window.
now you may be able to copy a whole line but not a single letter or a
call sign, and if you are in a contest this typing the call sign in is
like using a horse buggy. For the casual rtty contact you can poke
along and type it in, all the rtty mode logging programs allow you to
point and click to add the call sign and reports, so lets at least do
what all the other programs let you do. There is a short fall in this
program, that is easy to fix and the reason givin for not doing so is
not valid in my opinion.

Just my opinion FWIW.

Bob,

I guess I'm confused...DX4WIN works fine for RTTY using my AEA PK-900. Are
you looking for soundcard RTTY support?

Lets hope Paul can understand there is a lot of interest in RTTY with
DX4WIN, because a few people want a CD of the program doesn't mean
they have no internet access and why should a majority of dx4win users
suffer because of a few who would need to go to a friends, library etc.
to download something? I have several friends who will not buy dx4win
because it does not work with RTTY.

The program does not do either of those things at this time. It would be a
 nice feature, though.

Lets also hope there is a LINUX version somewhere out there in the near
 future.

 Subject: [Dx4win] Auto Update

 Hi,

I have just converted my log from Logplus to DX4win and every thing
till now looks great, I do have a question how can I auto update my logbook
from the callbook CD-Rom? to fill all the county field. and my second
question is; in real time logging how can I update the qso automatically
with the name, state name and county name?

 Thank you
