[Dx4win] WA4TMJ and Virginia Counties
Virginia Beach City is not a county. It is an independent city. You'll need to ask the County Hunters award keepers which county it counts as if you're chasing an award. Says County is, Virginia Beach City. It wont let me add that. Re: [Dx4win] DX4WIN Digest, Vol 162, Issue 26
Thanks for all the replies saying Ver9 log file will not work with Ver8 program. Good to know. Bert N8NN -Original Message- Can I open a Ver9 log file with the Ver8 program? That is, can I go back to Ver8 if I want to without losing QSOs added to my log with Ver9? [Dx4win] Rig File for Yaesu FT-817
Can someone recommend a rig file for the Yaesu FT-817? I used the FT-857 and it works, but haven't tested all functions yet. [Dx4win] Managing LoTW and paper QSLs
I could use a brief explanation of how to manage QSLing with version 8. In version 7 I knew that QSOs marked with W were worked but no QSL card had been sent. When I sent a QSL card and posted the date in the logbook, the W changed to M. The C meant 'confirmed' and in my log that means 'card in hand'. In version 8 it's not as clear to me, especially with the additional consideration of LoTW. I need a brief explanation of how the developers of DX4WIN intended the flags to be used and how QSL mailings and LoTW uploads and two types of confirmations can be managed. [Dx4win] LoTW Logbook Sort
Is it possible to sort my logbook to only include QSOs that have been confirmed by LoTW? What I want to achieve is a logbook that shows cluster spots in color for countries that have not been confirmed by LoTW. To do this I need to remove the QSOs with confirmations posted for paper QSLs I have received. Re: [Dx4win] DX cluster hookup?
I raised this issue several years ago and got a nasty rejection from the DX4WIN email support. Soured me on DX4WIN for years. In my opinion it is programming not worthy of a commercial product. The BandMap and moving the last used cluster to the top of the list are improvements. Starting the cluster in DX4WIN is a chore that shouldn't have remained for so many years. Apparently the DX cluster facility in DX4WIN is a very low priority. There are free DX Cluster programs available with more features and a better interface. And yes, I do use other programs for the DX Cluster. Re: [Dx4win] DX4WIN Rotor Control
Darrell -- Thank you for the offer to help me interface my rotor with DX4WIN. I got it working when others on this reflector told me to use Orion M2A instead of Orion M2 in the preferences. When I did that, it worked perfectly. Looking forward to using it all the time now! [Dx4win] DX4WIN Rotor Control
I am trying to interface an M2 Orion 2800 rotor to DX4WIN and am not getting any response. I need some help! I set the Preferences with the COM port and Orion M2. I have version 7.07.02. The rotor operates under computer control using HyperTerm, so I know the COM port works and the M2 controller works.
