[Dx4win] My DX4Win has lost its brain
When I start DX4WIN the only windows that open are the packet window and the DX Spots window. How do I get it to operate properly? [Dx4win] FT8 Integration
I know I'm a bit late to the party, since FT8 has been around for a number of years. I couldn't find any chatter about whether or not there will be an effort to integrate FT8 into DX4WIN. That is so that FT8 contacts can be made from within DX4WIN, and saved to the log, thereby making dup checking and other features available. As it is now, I am working FT8 using WSJT-X and periodically uploading the Adif file to DX4WIN. Not the easiest way to work. Is there any effort ongoing to bring FT8 into DX4WIN? Thanks. [Dx4win] How do I reset the label flag on 1600 QSOs
OK - I screwed up. I unwittingly loaded a bunch (like 1600) of contest QSOs from N1MM into DX4WIN but I had the "set Label to Yes" set. So now I need to un-set the flag. I think I need to create a group of the 1600 QSO's and then un-set the flag? I haven't been able to find where the guidance is to do this. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks. [Dx4win] importing ADIF files
When I import an adif file the label flag is being set. How do I go about stopping this from happening. Question 2 How do I group unset all of the flags that have been improperly set? Thanks all. I've been away from DX4WIN for a number of years - just getting back to it. [Dx4win] DX4WIN + K3 Strange Telnet Behavior
I have DX4WIN 8.08 and a K3. I have been experiencing an oddity that I have not been able to resolve: With K3 tuned to 3500.0, if I double click on a spot at 3503.5 the K3 goes to 3503.5. No problem. With the K3 in the CW portion of the band (e.g. 3503.5) if I double click on a spot at 3800.0 the K3 goes to 3800.65. With the radio in the SSB portion of the band (e.g. 3800.0) if I double click on a spot at 3503.5 the K3 goes to 3502.85. I am getting a 650 Hz offset whenever the K3 changes modes. This happens in DX4WIN, but not in N1MM. Anyone have an idea where this is coming from? Re: [Dx4win] Retarded callsigns
Lets hope this is just an anomaly! What I would do is just enter the call with a three letter suffix (and do this as a standard in your log) and then put the full call in the comments. I don't expect to see any change to the way the program works. What were they thinking? Re: [Dx4win] Keyboard Shortcuts
Ian: Indeed it does. What I'm looking for is a way to map Alt W to F12. In writelog (and I think CT in the old days) Alt W is used to clear the QSO entry window. In a contest you Alt W a lot, so it is second nature to Alt W if you want a clear QSO entry window. In DX4Win it's F9 plus respond to the "do you really want to" pop-up, if you've made any QSO relevant entries. I for one sure would like to have my Alt W key work in DX4Win. I was hoping there was a way to customize keyboard shortcuts, but I couldn't find it. Has anyone been successful in this regard? Still a happy DX4Win customer, with almost 57K QSOs in the log. [Dx4win] DX4WIN + K5XD Keyer (PTT)
I Spent much time today trying to get DX4WIN to key my transmitter. I use Writelog for contesting with the keyer and it works fine. I'm sure there are many on the list that have struggled with this same problem. I use the 1/8" plug PTT outputs from the K5XD keyer to key my rigs. This is easy - K5XD keyer PTT output goes direct to the Mic plug key connection. Writelog and the K5XD keyer use one comm. port for serial interface of one radio, and also include PTT. The DX4WIN help file says the following: "COM Port: When selecting a COM port for keying, the two RS232 lines (DTR and RTS) can be selected for CW keying and for PTT control. Each line can have one of the following values, None, CW Keying or PTT control. You can share the same COM port with the radio. When a line is not used for keying, the DTR-high / RTS-high setting for the radio determine the state of the line." So - with RTS selected to assert PTT, the K5XD keyer should be happy, and should key the transmitter. What am I missing? I've hunted around in the archives, and googled my way around this issue to no avail. Any help appreciated, and many thanks in advance.
