[Dx4win] CW & DX4WIN
Hi All, May I ask a hopefully simple question. I understand from DX4WIN manual that I can link up my PC (XP Pent 4) to key jack and "type" morse directly from the computer keyboard. But can I link up my rig (ICOM IC 756 Pro II) so that DX4WIN can de-code the morse too?? I noticed in a recent review of Writelog (in Radcom) that that software can, but can DX4WIN do it to, if so how??? Kind Regards =A0 Tony G8DQZ/M0DQZ

No. In any case, software reading of CW doesn't work very well unless S/N is very good and code is near perfect... ie machine generated. - Original Message - From: "Tony Lord" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Wednesday, April 14, 2004 07:19 Subject: [Dx4win] CW & DX4WIN Hi All, May I ask a hopefully simple question. Actually, the technology has advanced some. The better programs can handle a poorer S/N and some more non -perfect code than they used to. Here's probably the best program at it (but, of course, the human ear is STILL a better Morse decoder than any program) http://www.dxsoft.com/en/products/cwget/ - Original Message - From: "Mel Martin" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Tony Lord" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Sent: Wednesday, April 14, 2004 9:41 AM Subject: Re: [Dx4win] CW & DX4WIN > No. In any case, software reading of CW doesn't work very well unless S/N is > very good and code is near perfect... ie machine generated. > > - Original Message - > From: "Tony Lord" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: > Sent: Wednesday, April 14, 2004 07:19 > Subject: [Dx4win] CW & DX4WIN > > > Hi All, > > May I ask a hopefully simple question. Tony, There's no CW decoder built into DX4WIN. I often use the keyboard in slower QSOs as I have trouble slowing down to novice speeds. 73 de Tom, K4NR - Original Message - From: "Tony Lord" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Wednesday, April 14, 2004 6:19 AM Subject: [Dx4win] CW & DX4WIN Hi All, May I ask a hopefully simple question.
