[Dx4win] Computer move and version upgrade.

2014-05-13 Thread David Gould

I am currently using V7 on an old WinXP machine.

I am installing a new computer with Win7. I also want to upgrade to V8.

I am happy to set my preferences up from scratch in V8 as I want to
play with it for a while on a dummy log.

Can I then simply export my logfile from V7 on old machine (using
DX4WIN6 format) onto a thumb drive and then import it into V8?

Any other things I need to do? I don't have any customisations.

Or..
Do I need to install V7 first on the new machine and then do the upgrade?

If so, Is there a place from where I can download V7.07.02. ( I
have my licence key backed up in many places, but seem to have lost
the program install file)

Install whatever version you want to play with. Copy the log, the
DX4WIN program will convert the log to the latest format.

You will need a licensed copy of DX4WIN to save the log.

You should run the updater to get the latest data files:
