Re: [Dx4win] DX4WIN and QRZ Lookups
Yes...DX info is also compiled in the pop up window after hitting F3.BUT REPEATINGyou MUST: 1. have it configured.in the Preferences.to include having it ENABLEDand .THIS IS IMPORTANTyou HAVE to have those EXACT URL links i typed up for you.in the proper window in the Preferences. Get those URLs wrong..and it doesn't work. I'd COPY WHAT I SENT YOU AND PASTE IT IN the proper windowswhich i have labeled for you. 2. Have a callsign placed in the QSO window that you want to work or lookup. 3. Have your cursor IN THE QSO window (again, NOTHING will happen if you aren't in the QSO window)then hit F3 (Alt F3, would bring up your web browser and QRZ web pageIFyou have that configured properly in Preferencesin the area ABOVE the info you are configuring for this feature) 4. BE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET (i know, should be obvious.butI've had some ask or have issues with that too..) When you do all that, it works .SORT OF. Yes, it will grab EITHER DX or Stateside info.IFit is listed in QRZ. It will give you a blank pop up window if QRZ has no listing on the callsign, of course. It won't work if you aren't a member of QRZ or put in a wrong callsign/password combo. Now, the glitch...as I mentioned beforeis that the info WILL indeed populate in the QSO windowwhen WITH YOUR CURSOR IN THE POPUP WINDOW (with the callsign info from QRZ)...you hit "Update QSO Info" in the bottom right corner of that window). BUTbecause of a glitch in 9.x version of DX4WIN, it will NOT save it. As i mentioned before, the KP&W as we say in the software development worldis to bring up that QSOAGAINand do the Update QSO Info thing AGAINand THIS TIME, hit F10 and then saveand it will KEEP the info in the file. that's the glitch. They're working on getting that fixed. But all else works as described above... K4TK Tim Moore PMP On Wed, May 16, 2018 at 7:02 AM, john shea wrote: > Thanks Tim > > One question. Re: [Dx4win] DX4WIN and QRZ Lookups
Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't that only work for USA Calls? If you click on UPDATE QSO in the CALLSIGN/MGR window for a DX call nothing happens. For a USA call the info is filled in. Re: [Dx4win] DX4WIN and QRZ Lookups
If you hit F3 it brings up a Window with all that same info (IF.you have it configured correctly to do so under Preferences>Ext Data>Online Callsign Lookup). You have to have not only the proper URL info for QRZbut also your password and userid for QRZ. Once you get that configured right in Preferencesand you hit JUST F3 (not Alt F3that brings up your web browser and the QRZ website)...then "Update QSO" in the bottom right corner of the popup windowit will populate that info into the QSO window. [Dx4win] DX4WIN and QRZ Lookups
I use both qrz and hamcall for callsign lookups. Using Alt F3 brings up the QRZ Website in a browser. Is it possible with DX4WIN’s platform for info such as name, qth, etc be inserted into the appropriate boxes in the qso window as other logging programs do? 73 john/w3khg Sent from my iPad __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
