[Dx4win] Log File

2020-06-30 Thread Bert Garcia
Arne -- To generate a log file of QSOs for a group, do an F8 search on the
group number and export the file. If you're not familiar with F8, do
this:

In the QSO window select Filter > Search > type the group number and hit
Enter key. You now have a log of all QSOs with that group number.

Now, export the file with File > Import/Export > File > Export > enter file
name and location > Save > Yes > OK. You now have saved an ADIF file of
the group QSOs.

Close the Import/Export window. In the QSO window select Filter > Cancel
Filter and you now have your entire log back in DX4WIN.

Arne,

If you have already created the Group, you just need to go to Filter,
Selection and click on the arrow in the upper right (next to All QSOs).
This will display the list of all groups that you have created. Select the
one you want and click OK.

From the main window (the one that says DX4WIN #.## call name at

In the new window, make sure ADIF is selected (the first line), then
File | Export. Give the file a name then click on OK.

If you discover the solution, please post for all as I am using a new

I have removed all Power turn off ability in Control Panel for all items

find the culprit turned off everything. If I should discover the fix, will

Go to Program Files\dx4win702\save. In the Save folder there should be a

This is the file containing your log and the one you should copy to save.

[Dx4win] Log File Transfer

2004-05-19 Thread Wendell Wyly - W5FL
Copying anything to CD's is not without problems. The files become read
only files when you look at the properties, and you have to change them back
to read/write files. Most logs and the save directory can be zipped and
will fit on a 1.44 floppy. That is easy to move to the new computer and
unzip in a backup directory. That said:

I would run the old DX4WIN on the old computer and write the DX4WIN ini file
to the save directory which is probably DX4W602/save. This saves most of
your preferences.

I would write the entire save directory to a cd, then write it back to a
backup of the save directory on the new computer. Change all file
properties in this new directory back from read only to read write. You
original log will be in this directory as should be your call.key keycode
for DX4WIN.

Install the new program. Import the dx4win.ini file through preferences,
copy your key file to the new save directory and copy your log to the new
save directory. You should be good to go. The new country file is good
enough that I would not import my old country file unless you want to import
the qsl managers.

Over the years I've replaced the canned QSL managers with ones I had sucess
with.
I had thought that _all_ qsl managers were stored in dx4win.cty and nothing in
the log file.
If I use your dx4win.cty with the new managers, will I lose my customization?
How can I choose which qsl manager (mine or yours) to use?

They are.

Yes and no. See next question.

When you import QSL manager data, you can choose to wipe out all the existing
data, or just add to it. However, if you just add to it, bad entries in your
old file (that I've since fixed) will reappear.

If you send me your DX4WIN.CTY file, I can merge your QSL manager data into the
master database, hopefully without restoring any of the errors.

Subject: [Dx4win] 6.03 and Custom Award - TenTen
Message-ID: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

After upgrading, when I do a search via f8 for the custom award for the
TenTen award I get a listing of 10 meter QSOs in my Logbook screen. When I
select the menu items Reports and then Ten Ten under Custom, I get no
results.

The Award field for these QSOs says TenTen in the Logbook. Both the
Awdstrng and Awdvalue fields display the TenTen number.

Does anyone have any hints on how I can get the Reports Custom TenTen to
display the TenTen numbers?
