What were the FT4 QSOs originally imported *from*? You need to
identify those QSOs and change the Mode=MFSK, Submode=FT4 for each of
them. Also make sure that "LoTW" is (re-)set to 'Y' and Upload Date
(next to it) is empty. That will force DX4WIN to export those QSOs
for your next LoTW upload.

Re: [Dx4win] Modes FT4 And JS8

2019-08-17 Thread David Kozinn, K2DBK
I don’t believe that D4W will automatically change the older ones to properly
reflect FT4, I think you need to re-import. It’s easy enough to check, press F8
to do a search for mode MFSK and sub-mode FT4 (you probably don’t need the
submode) and see if anything comes up. If not, just re-import and then do a
LoTW export and upload.

Where do I find FT4 and JS8??

I'm running version 9.06
I looked in:

I see FT8 as a choice (it's checked) but no FT4 or JS8.

Re: [Dx4win] Modes

2011-02-12 Thread Mel
Just unselect the modes not used in preferences. They will still appear
in the drop down, but the ones you have selected to use appear first so
if you enter S, C. R, or F once it will select the right mode. Of
course, if your radio is less than 30 years old you can probably read
the information automatically.

Re: [Dx4win] Modes

I have to agree with you Ernie... but I don't think all awards treat all
digital modes equally. However I don't think the ARRL should be the one
calling the shots... I would prefer the standards be set by an
international group... perhaps in coordination with the ADIF group.

Re: [Dx4win] Modes

2009-09-25 Thread Jay Hainline
I think LOTW is trying to do what you say by grouping modes into 4 separate
groups. The 4 groups are used to issue out the various awards ARRL offers.
DATA encompasses anything digital. As far as I know, there is no individual
award by the ARRL for working everything by a single mode. WAS by psk31, or
rtty, or jt6m, or etc etc...

It's is interesting watching the various posts , here and other places,
about 'modes'.

As far as DX4Win is concerned, I once got involved in this discussion
thread, but used a workaround that 'satisfied' DX4Win, LOTW and me! It
involved 'Olivia', now but not always supported by DX4Win, and a wonderful
example of what I am about to say.

The problem that has already arrived is that the good old amateur community
has created a monster with 'modes', a monster that is going to take a fair
bit of management in the future, and which is only going to be achieved with
a fair bit of angst being felt by many, following a tough call from an
important player, probably LOTW.

The monster that has arrived is the mode, and specifically what mode, given
that there are already very many, shall I say,
oblique/boutique/nondescript/irrelevant/obscure modes already out there, and
modern software and amateur thought will ensure many, many more in the near
future, to a number that will be practically unmanageable as standalone
modes.

Might I say that, on this subject, we seriously risk disappearing up one's
own major orifice. (I am sorry if this offends - I used it to indicate the
seriousness that I forsee in the issue, already and in the future).

BTW, I am not complaining, just commenting, because modes to me essentially
mean Phone, CW, Digital (RTTY and PSK31) - and with a willingness in my
heart to accept DATA as an all encompassing mode for all others. Folks, it's
just my opinion.

Can anyone place themselves in the shoes of the LOTW decision makers, now,
and determine how we manage this 'monster' now, and into the future?

Let me know. Cause every individual, every logging and contest program,
LOTW, the whole shooting match, will have to comply. And be happy!

I stand by with interest cause I think it will be a lot of fun!

Dean, in 6.03, it seems that your ACTIVE modes are listed at the top of the
list (Mode field in QSO logging window), and the rest follow. That works
well enough for me.
