You really need two different DX4WIN.CFG files, one for each layout. The layout is not stored in the log. While I don't recommend this, you could create two different DX4WIN directories on the same computer: C:\DX4W805.desktop C:\DX4W805.laptop You can create each one by taking your existing DX4W805 directory and copying the whole thing (Windows will create unique names when you paste, which you can change later). Create two desktop icons, one for DX4WIN - Desktop and DX4WIN - Laptop. Both instances can open/read/close the same log file. DX4WIN only allows you to run instance anyway, so there should be no problems with log conflicts. Just make sure that when data files are updated, to run the updater in BOTH directories to keep them in sync. - Jim -- Jim Reisert AD1C, jjreis...@alum.mit.edu, http://www.ad1c.us __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Dx4win] Multiple screen layouts
I think the easy way is to have 2 different copies as you say and one log but saved in dropbox. So all your computers have the same log (and you have a dropbox backup as present !!). And it's free also... 73 Kostas SV1DPI On 23/2/2015 3:21 μμ, Gerben A.Menting - PG5M wrote: I use DX4WIN for my normal logging with a 23 display. [Dx4win] Multiple screen layouts
I use DX4WIN for my normal logging with a 23 display. For all my QSLing, including all DXpedition operations, I sometimes take my laptop another location for QSL card checking.
