Re: [Dx4win] Print bureau labels
Hamad, Yes, there is a way to print only one country at a time. But you have to "trick" DX4Win slightly. Situation -You have 2000 QSLs set for Label = "Y" and Method = "Buro". 1. Set a filter for the country you want to print. Filter (F8) example: Prefix ="F", Label ="Y", Method ="Buro" 2. Use the QSO >Multiple QSO operations >Set QSL Method to select a Method for which you have no records (like ""... which I use or this purpose) 3. Print the labels only, by selecting QSL Method = "" in the Print Label dialog window. 4. After printing these labels, set a filter to re-set the QSL Method from "" back to "Buro". 4a. Filter (F8) example: Prefix ="F", Label ="N", Method ="", QSL date = 4b. Re: [Dx4win] Print bureau labels
Hi my 2€ ... from Dx4Win I print labels to a PDF file that i save (i have installed a PDF "printer"). Then i use this PDF file for the actual label print. I can re-print any pages and i also have the PDF file as documentation later of that i can check if in doubt. -- OZ1AXG Flam - Original Message - From: "John Shaw" To: Sent: Wednesday, July 22, 2009 10:07 PM Subject: Re: [Dx4win] Print bureau labels > Hi Hamad, > > If you want to break your QSL print job into smaller lots for safety a > better way is to use the range option when you go to print. Re: [Dx4win] Print bureau labels
Hi Hamad, If you want to break your QSL print job into smaller lots for safety a better way is to use the range option when you go to print. This gives you a lot more control of the size of each print job and the ability to recover with less wastage if the printer jambs or something. First rule; make a backup before you start. Second: Don't ever say yes to changing the print flags until you are completely satisfied you have all your cards printed. Example: say you have 2000 cards to print, you can break this up into 20 lots of 100, use ranges 1-100, 101-200 etc. Write these out on paper before you start so you can cross them off as each is completed. Don't ever say yes to changing the print flags until you are completely satisfied you have all your cards printed. If your printer breaks down during a print you can do that range again, but first print to screen and scroll through to find the last good label printed, then make a note of the page number and make a new range to complete all after that page to the end of the current range to paper. This works very well when printing direct on cards as each page is one card so you get very little wastage if you printer fails during a print. If you don't change the print flags you can resume printing at any time if you keep a record of where you left off. I hope that helps and makes sense. 73 John ZL1BYZ. -Original Message- From: dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net [mailto:dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net] On Behalf Of Hamad 9K2HN Sent: Wednesday, 22 July 2009 8:07 p.m. To: dx4win Subject: [Dx4win] Print bureau labels Hi, I do have a question is there a way which I can print bureau labels for a specific country? Re: [Dx4win] Print bureau labels
Hello Hamad and the fellows... > I do have a question is there a way which I can print bureau labels for a > specific country? I do have more than 2000 bureau labels to print, and to > print them all together will take very long time (i'm printing directly > on the qsl card) so i thought it will be better if i can specify a > country to print for. any Idea? There may be a simpler way, but this one worked for me: 1) Make a backup of your log. 2) Filter your log on what you want (a country, Label=Y, etc.). 3) Export the filtered log to DX4WIN6. 4) Create a new log and import the DX4WIN log just exported. This new log only has the QSO exported (ie. filtered by a country, Label=Y, etc.). 5) Print the QSL labels from this log. After that, you may discard this log. 6) Re-load the original log. 7) Filter the log again with the same criteria used in step 2) above. 8) Select QSO > Multiple QSO Operations > Set QSL Date, and put the desired QSL date. 9) Save the log. I hope you will find this useful... 73 de Isidro, EA8NQ E-mail: ea8...@hotmail.com (remove the _ ) Visit the EA8NQ's web page (in Spanish): http://ea8nq.ure.es/ __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

Hamad, can you filter for the specific country, set the print label flag to Y and go from there? 73 de Peg KB9LIE in SW Wisconsin USA --- On Wed, 7/22/09, Hamad 9K2HN wrote: I do have a question is there a way which I can print bureau labels for a specific country? de 9k2hn Hamad __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
