[Dx4win] QRZ XML

2019-10-21 Thread adell
I know this has been beaten to death BUT

after working flawlessly for , suddenly I am getting:

QRZ/XML Cannot connect to the server
Username/password incorrect
No entry found for K8LPS

when I press F3Alt-F3 works fine

I can't find that any of the information in the boxes has changed, but there
you are

As written:

Data Source: QRZ Online

http://xmldata.qrz.com/xml/current/?username=[USERNAME];password=[PASSWORD];agent=[PROGRAM]\

and

http://xmldata.qrz.com/xml/current/?s=[SESSIONID];callsign=[CALLSIGN]

Suggestions graciously accepted Snide remarks ignored

Thanks, Tim. I am a subscriber. I assumed that you could not even get
complete info from the XML service unless you were a subscriber.

If you're talking about QRZ website callsign lookups, there is a
limit.IF...you are not a Subscriber. The limit is 100 per day if you
are NOT an XML Subscriber. If you do subscribe (it's 25 per year I think
for basic XML service), then the number of lookups is indeed UNLIMITED. But
non subscribers are limited per dayand I'm pretty sure the limit is 100
per day.

None that I know of. I do bulk lookups all the time, one to two
hundred at a time. I've never had a problem.

Did the problem resolve itself?

I do know that the QRZ XML protocol issues the searcher a one-time
session ID key that needs to be used for the lookups. I assume that
DX4WIN keeps using the same session ID each time, but I imagine that
if you go slow enough, the session key could expire, in which case
lookups would stop working. I do not know what DX4WIN does if this
happens, if it detects that the key expired and requests a new one.

It delivers in the data in fields which are easily parseable by a program.
