[Dx4win] Share rig COM port between Writelog and DX4WIN?

2004-02-06 Thread N5PA
I have my rig control to my Yaesu FT-1000MP Mark-V and WriteLog CW =
keying
through COM1 via my W5XD Multi-Keyer. I have DX4WIN using COM8 via my
RigBlaster Pro. DX4WIN will not key the Multi-Keyer. I run Windows XP =
Pro
on my P4 Dell. I use a ByteRunner Card with 8 COM Ports since the Dell =
only
has one COM Port. I do not see a way around two ports if you are =
running XP
unless you use one of the Parallel Port drivers to key via that port.

Jim

I doubt it, however

You might be able to split the data coming out of the IC-756 and then =
feed
that to 2 level converters and use 2 unique com ports.

I've never tried it, but it may be worth attempting.

[Dx4win] Share rig COM port between Writelog and DX4WIN?

2004-02-06 Thread Jim Reisert AD1C
Is it possible to effectively "split" a COM port (virtually or otherwise)
so it's available to two different programs, like Writelog and DX4WIN? I'd
like to be able for both programs to read the frequency from my IC-756
simultaneously.

Thanks - Jim AD1C
