RE: [Dx4win] 7.05.03 not printing group names on labels?
Hi Jim, You're right. I use %% 73 de @@ and get Pse QSL 73 de I've always used group numbers and until this update they worked okay. I just haven't printed QSLs in the past week or so during which time I did an update to 7.05.03. 73, Don VE3XD -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jim Reisert AD1C Sent: September-22-08 5:18 PM To: DX4WIN Subject: [Dx4win] 7.05.03 not printing group names on labels? In my Rep/Lab preferences I have: %% - @@ - 73 de Jim AD1C The help text says, A %% (two percent characters) will be replaced by the group name that corresponds to the group number for the QSO printed. Thanks for the confirmation, Don. It does not work in 7.05.04 either. Paul, can you please check this out? Re: [Dx4win] 7.05.03 not printing group names on labels?
Jim, et all, Under PREFERENCES RPT/LAB In the GREETINGS box I have @@ %% 73(no dashes as you show, the spacing between the marks can be adjusted to fit your label size for proper fit, for example, if the 73 runs off the end of the label you have to shorten the spacing) Then when I print a label it will say: PSE QSL2007 CQWWDXCW 73 OR - TNX QSL 2008 ARRLDXSSB 73 etc, etc, etc, depending on the GROUP number of the QSO and if the CNFM box is marked Y or N. I have a different GROUP number assigned for each major contest I log. I work the contest using CTWin, use your instructions to convert CTWin to ADIF, then import the CTWin ADIF file to DX4WIN. Before doing so I must assign a new GROUP number for that contest that I am about to import and reset my PREFERENCE QSO GROUP window to that individual GROUP number. After doing the import all the QSO's just imported from that particular CTWin ADIF contest file will have that GROUP number assigned. After a successful contest log import I must go back to PREFERENCE QSO GROUP window and change the GROUP number back to what I use for everyday normal non contest QSO's. In my personal situation that is GROUP 100 (K7ACZ) and when I print a label from a QSO made under GROUP 100 the label will just say K7ACZ. Example: TNX QSLK7ACZ 73. When I print labels I ALWAYS at the PRINT QSL LABEL window click on PRINT. Then when the REPORT SETUP Window pops up, at the DESTINATION box I select PREVIEW to see how the label will look before printing. Hope this helps. I learned most of this from the Manual, help files, trial and error, and all the help and tips you have provided over the years. ___ Alan Zack Amateur Radio Station K7ACZ Official USCG Auxiliary Comm Station Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Delta Rocket Quality Engineer, The Boeing Company, Retired Aviation Chief Warrant Officer, U.S. Coast Guard, Retired U.S. Coast Guard, Always Ready, Always There Every hour, Every day, Around the Clock and Around the World SEMPER PARATUS http://www.geocities.com/k7acz http://gocoastguard.com http://www.uscgradio.net http://www.comm-one.org --- - Original Message - From: Jim Reisert AD1C [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: DX4WIN dx4win@mailman.qth.net Sent: Monday, September 22, 2008 2:18 PM Subject: [Dx4win] 7.05.03 not printing group names on labels? Paul noticed that I did not have 'Print group names' enabled in my Labels dialog. I checked that box, and the group names worked. 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C/Ø, [EMAIL PROTECTED], http://www.ad1c.us ___ Dx4win mailing list Dx4win@mailman.qth.net http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win
Re: [Dx4win] 7.05.03 not printing group names on labels?
Just FYI: When entering a Group number for a QSO, it must be in the range 0-253 (you get a message so indicating). However, in the Editing group names screen, it doesn't seem to check the range so you can CREATE group names that you will NOT be able to associate with a QSO(s)! RE: [Dx4win] 7.05.03 not printing group names on labels?
Dave, Interesting that you mentioned not to use zero. I've always used 0 for my call VE3BUC and that is the one that is now not working.
