[e-gold-list] Fw: Re: KMG - MM??

2000-10-24 Thread Geoff Barnes

In truth, Khurram, emails are rarely, if ever, answered. I have personally
sent 11, and have gotten one, maybe two responses. Response to the last one
was a single word. Fortunately for me, that word was "funded". No apologies
for the delays.

Your website states that a phone number is "in progress", and has for some
time, yet if one looks hard on the EGold site, they have a phone number for
you. Of course, it is only answered by a machine and my two phone calls got
no return call.

You also whine and make excuses for non-delivery, market conditions, etc.
and seem to be willing to only take responsibility for the "easy"
transactions. You hold checks beyond a reasonable time. If we take the time
to FedEx a check to you, is it silly to expect a short email saying "we've
got it! we're on it! Expect to be funded on [date]. And an email to complete
the transaction, saying that the account was funded and "thank you very much
for your patronage"?

We do a very steady business. Almost "free money" for you. We know what
Customer Service means. I'm sure you have SOME concept in your head when
somebody uses this term, but it certainly seems a far cry from the accepted
reality.

I've seen you blast people on this list when it is you who are in the wrong.
I sympathize with them. Despite the hassles of connecting with a new vendor,
we're taking our business elsewhere. Anyplace where "Customer Service" is
understood and applied, and where there is some sense that our commerce is
appreciated. I'm not the first to tire of you, Khurram, and I'm certain I
will not be the last.

I suggest that you, your staff(?) and anybody mildly interested in running a
business visit, read and understand the materials at www.cluetrain.com.

[e-gold-list] Re: KMG - MM??

2000-10-24 Thread gary

KMG is fast becoming infamous for being EXTREMELY slow to fund accounts
even when he has received Postal Money Orders, much less checks. I
believe there were two people who posted here that they had been waiting
weeks AFTER their checks were cashed. KMG is also VERY non-responsive
to emails and phione calls about long over due funding of accounts.

If your check was a personal check, you may be waiting a long time for
funding, if it was a bank check, his stated time is 4 to 5 business days
but, in reality, it can be much longer than that. KMG's service SUCKS!!

[e-gold-list] Re: Funding E-gold

2000-10-24 Thread Don Johnson

Hi Cathryn,
I have always used http://www.goldpouchexpress.com/ to fund my e-gold
accounts using my Visa credit card. He has always had my e-gold account
funded within 24 hours. Just make sure you either print out or copy you
confirmation #. He called me the last time I used his service to get my
confirmation #, which I likeddue to all the CC fraud going around.
His service is EXCELLENT!! IF he ever gets too many orders...he stops
taking orders until he gets caught up again...and he posts this on his
website as well.

[e-gold-list] Re: The Euro

2000-10-24 Thread Jeff Fitzmyers

Yeah, sorry about that. I was board and called my buddy Easy Money Al
and Loose Larry up for some fun. I said, "Greenie, lets have a little
squeeze, tomorrow!" So we all bought euros in Europe with our personal
accounts, then bought with the taxpayers money to give the lagging thing
a good kick. When the market opened in New York with a large gap, the
weak shorts all had to buy to cover; the silly longs had to get in, and
there we were, helping out as usual, by selling as much as we could.
This got our personal accounts nice and short, ready for the next leg
down. I can't see to recall what we did with the taxpayer's money, I'll
have to look into once I dock the new yacht.

> Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers and Alan Greenspan won't
> reveal how much money was poured into this intervention, but
> estimates are $10 billion.

But seriously, I used to worry about e-gold's 1% storage fee, but then I
figured out inflation is the fed's fee and it is usually 2-3%+ and
totally out of my control.

[e-gold-list] Paypal

2000-10-24 Thread Destiny Worldwide

Well, shortly after I said we had never had a problem with Paypal, we did!
Someone tried to defraud us by giving Paypal a bad credit card number.
Fortunately, the spend into egold was not completed because of one of our
security measures, which I will not share with the group for obvious reasons
in case the con artist is lurking on this list.

Because of this close call, and the fact that it takes Paypal around two
weeks to catch on to these crooks, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY IF YOU TRANSFER
MONEY TO US THROUGH PAYPAL AND THE SOURCE OF FUNDS IS A CREDIT CARD, THERE
WILL BE A 16 DAY HOLD ON THE FUNDS SO DEPOSITED. If the source of funds is
money in your Paypal account or a bank transfer, we will accept it on our
old terms. It is fortunate that Paypal now tells the source of funds or
this would have to apply to all transactions.

Hello!

A couple of things:

1) Unless they've changed the limits on unverified accounts, the thieves
will open several bad accounts. Send the money to a central account, and
then send the money to you from an account where the source of funds is NOT
from credit cards. PayPal will still freeze your account and potentially
hold you responsible for receiving stolen funds through intermediate
accounts.

2) PayPal only finds credit card fraud when the actual card-holder calls to
complain. This may be after they receive their statement in the mail and
therefore could be over a month later. I had my account frozen once after 27
days.

Sincerely,

Craig

2000-10-24 Thread ZChin

Hello Michael,

Tks for your kind advice.
I finally received a reply from Parker yesterday and within a day my
e-gold account was funded.
I take some responsibility over the delay in funding my e-gold, as I've
overlooked the requirement of Gold Age Order Form, which I submitted
only about 2 weeks back.

Thanks again for the help.
