yes you are correct jp - 60,766 in your example would be accounts
that have at least *some* (i.e. non-zero) gold in them. the stats
page also gives an idea of how many accounts have nothing in them -
as we
know the total number of accounts (136,259 at this instant) and
a bottom limit on funded accounts (60,780 at this instant) leaving
75,479
maximum with no e-metal in them. (the exact actual number of accounts
with
any type of e-metal at all at this instant is 61,441 which is not
possible
to tell from the data on the stats page.) 3,923 accounts have more
than
one type of e-metal in them, which i think means there are 661
accounts
that have no e-gold but some of another e-metal type in them.

[e-gold-list] more stats!

2001-01-06 Thread jpm

Guys where it says "Balance Distribution of Funded Accounts", does
that mean that DOES NOT INCLUDE accounts with 0. balance?

Thus, number of funded accounts 60,766 means 60,766 with AT LEAST
SOME e-gold in them?

Let us know!

Suggest where it says "0 - 1 oz." it should read "under one ounce",
because "0 - 1 oz" suggests that includes accounts that are totally
empty (which would be quite different)

This is the comprehensive listing

Ah, Yep...I'm caught red handed! :-) I recall that it had a listing for Otto
Skinner's book the Biggest Tax Loophole of All
which caused me to join e-gold. I had also listed myself and made a point to
check now, due to a search engine optimization project.

Interesting! I recall an issue finding a moderator. I also see my past post
recommending the e-gold web ring (Bomis snap com) to another inquirer!

Most of your questions either have been answered or would be better
answered by an attorney (and I'm not one). Any of the tax/jurisdictional
ones are lawyers-only, but the form of your question (and my answer)
can bring up something that's on topic for the list, besides quoting the
right entity when you're quoting an entity...

NOT quoting the entire message back to email lists every time you reply
saves bandwidth, increases your signal-to-noise ratio dramatically so
that folks aren't as likely to killfile you and more-likely to read what you
wrote, and is considerate to those who choose to receive this list in a
digest format. I'll quote the list owner's words that we all received upon
signup and perhaps didn't read carefully:

>3. Cite only those portion of previous posts pertinent to the points
>you wish to make or the questions you wish to ask. If it's not worth
>your time to make this effort, then don't post.^
  ^

(My own emphasis added.) I don't mean to pick on markab23, since
he's not the worst offender, but folks, the technology to be considerate
to others and save list.bandwidth is _THERE_, in your email programs.
Please, figure it out and use it! There are/were interesting people on
this list, and I say "were" because yes, some of them have been driven
off by the increasing noise-level. Thanks in advance for helping me to
end this problem.

"To further solidify where IRS & BATF have jurisdiction, and to establish where
taxes in the Internal Revenue Code apply when there is geographical application,
Consider definitions of the terms "United States", "State", and "Citizen" at 26
CFR § 31.3121(e)-1. These definitions apply to Social Security, unemployment
tax, etc., with the original enactment in 1935. These definitions are possibly
the clearest relating to administration of the Internal Revenue Code, and are
particularly important as they demonstrate application to Alaska and Hawaii
before 1960 but not after, and application to Guam and American Samoa after
January 1, 1961:

  (a) When used in the regulations in this subpart, the term "State"
includes the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Virgin
Islands, and Territories of Alaska and Hawaii before their admission as States,
and (when used with respect to services performed after 1960) Guam and American
Samoa.

  (b) When used in the regulations in this subpart, the term "United
States", when used in a geographical sense, means the several states (including
the Territories of Alaska and Hawaii before their admission as States), the
District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.
When used in the regulations in this subpart with respect to services performed
after 1960, the term "United States" also includes Guam and American Samoa when
the term is used in a geographical sense. The term "citizen of the United
States" includes a citizen of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico or the Virgin
Islands, and, effective January 1, 1961, a citizen of Guam or American Samoa.

The allegation that most Federal laws presently on the books are applicable only
in territory belonging to the United States might seem far-fetched even with
proofs already established in this discourse, but consider the definitions at 18
U.S.C. § 921(a)(2), which are applicable for Chapter 44 -- Firearms, in the
current edition of the United States Code (18 U.S.C. §§ 921-930).

  § 921. Definitions

  (a) As used in this chapter --

  (2) The term "interstate or foreign commerce" includes commerce between
any place in a State and any place outside of that State, or within any
possession of the United States (not including the Canal Zone) or the District
of Columbia, but such term does not include commerce between places within the
same State but through any place outside of that State. The term "State"
includes the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and the
possessions of the United States (not including the Canal Zone). [Emphasis added]

Application of the term "State" above is exclusive of the Union of several
States party to the Constitution -- all examples of the class are territories
and possessions of the United States subject to Congress' Article IV § 3.2
legislative jurisdiction."
