[e-gold-list] PGP 8 - Not impressed

2003-03-31 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Did you know that the new version 8 of PGP freeware does not include any
mail encryption/decryption. To use that feature you need to buy a personal
licence for $50 USD which sucks !!! Those of us with Win XP will have to
keep making do unless we want to pay.

Oh well.

I love to

[e-gold-list] Australia, the land of exchangers?

2003-03-31 Thread condor1
Is there a particular incentive in Australia to start
an exchanger business?? Looking at a list of
exchangers I noticed that at least 1/2 are located
down under.

Any ideas?

[e-gold-list] Re: Australia, the land of exchangers?

2003-03-31 Thread Robert S.Z.
Australian's are pretty enterprising and instinctively distrust authority
of any kind ;o)

Not to forget that taxes on small biz and self-employment are somewhat
punitive in nature and operating an online business is about the only way
one can still start a venture without spending more time on mandatory
administration tasks than on running the business.

Further, the close proximity to Asia might play a role as well. Australian
expat communities are found all over Southeast Asia.

Finally, both Australian and Asian start-ups have often no way to get
merchant accounts to accept credit cards online. Therefore e-gold is a
natural, if somewhat limited alternative.

Cheers,
Robert.

He does, but folks should probably discuss PGP with the kind
folks at www.cryptorights.org (which accepts e-gold, and helps
a lot of folks to learn about it efficiently).

One thing I'd love to see someday is a way to directly buy PGP
with e-gold. Sure would be nice, but it hasn't happened just yet,
so any eloquence directed at those folks is appreciated.

As for Australia, maybe they appreciate gold because of all the
beautiful nuggets found above ground there!

[e-gold-list] Cash Cards is selling our emails to porn Porn Shops

2003-03-31 Thread Tom Craig
Ok I have gone along with this little game of Steve Renner for long enough
without saying something about it. Spam is one thing but for a market
maker to sell their emails to porn dealers is over the top and Cash
Cards...namely Steve Renner who has control of CC is selling our emails to
puke porn brokers. You are one sick puppy Steve for doing this as you are
not showing this industrys bad side when market makers are the one group
of people who should have the highest standards of integity. Cash Cards
has put a black eye to this arena for doing this sick thing to their
members.

Here is why I can say this without a shadow of doubt;
When I bought my positions in GL I used a unique email address for each
one, the reason I can do this is because I have my own domain and I can
create email addresses on the fly.. now it came to my attention some time
back that someone in Cash Cards was selling or passing on the email
addresses that are used for CashCards. At first I didn't worry about it,
but now I am getting pornography in my email box sent to these unique
email addresses and I know this cos, these email addresses were created
for the express purpose of registering with Cash Cards, they have not been
used for anything else.

A U.S. Attorney's office has alleged that PayPal violated laws regarding
the processing of online gambling payments, and is asking parent company
eBay to hand over nine months of the gambling-related earnings in
settlement.

I use the same practice with one of my domains (note my posting address
for example), and I too posted to this effect a few days ago regarding
Cashcards.

Steve then posted in response and I revisited the issue and sure enough,
I found a place on the cashcards website where the email address I used
was exposed, and thus, harvestable by outside parties.

Since the email address is indeed exposed on the site, it cannot be
stated with certainty that Cashcards sold the address.

In the meantime Steve has stated that the developers on their end
were going to try to close that up. They'll probably have to now
that its happening to more of their users.

[e-gold-list] Shadowcash 1.0

2003-03-31 Thread Randall Randall
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

RandallSquared releases Shadowcash, the industry's premiere payment system

March 31, 2003 -- RandallSquared released the Shadowcash payment system,
the digital currency industry's first affordable, fully customizable
software for building Internet-based payment systems. Shadowcash is based
on open source software, providing reliable, robust infrastructure for small
businesses.

We've really raised the bar when it comes to the choices that payment
systems have, said Randall Randall, Senior Developer for RandallSquared,
Shadowcash allows selection from the widest range of features in the
industry, yet in a logical way that's easy to set up. And we've kept
security in mind every step of the way.

Shadowcash allows businesses to quickly set up new online payment systems
without needing to develop all the practices and standards required from
scratch. Including both a shopping cart interface (SCI) and XML-based
automation, Shadowcash can be integrated seamlessly into an existing site,
or can manage the entire site. Pricing for Shadowcash starts at $19,999 or
55 ounces of gold for a full installation, and $1,999 or 6 ounces of gold
per month for leases.

A demonstration site for the Shadowcash system is available at
www.shadowcash.com. Demonstrations of the system's administration interface
are available upon request.

2003-03-31 Thread Graham Kelly
George,

Parker Bradley from Gold Age, and we at GoldNow started our businesses
within days of each other, quite independently, and without knowing about
each other. (Gold Age started 2-4 weeks before us) So, GoldNow is the
worlds longest continuously running market maker. It's been quite a
learning curve.

We *started* in Australia, but we are now not residents of Australia.

BTW, quite apart from the glossy travelogues, Australia is one of the
driest nations on earth. Water is an issue... but there's still gold in
them thar hills!

Cheers!
