[e-gold-list] Re: What's the stance on Adult Sites
Just out of interest what is E-Gold's stance on Adult Sites and using e-gold as payment. I don't think there would be any problem with it. It might be what e-gold needs to launched into the mainstream market. I may be wrong, but I think Jim Ray has been calling for e-gold accepting adult businesses for a while. It is a fact that like it or not the adult industry is a booming one and if e-gold is to succeed in becoming more widely used I think this is a very good way of doing it The adult industry has helped bring almost every other innovation to the mainstream market; internet, videos, photography, even printing... As I recall, Jim Ray said a couple of years back that he thought the Seven Deadly Sins (all of them vices, IMO) might be the key to promoting e-gold--sloth, lust, greed, vanity, and so on. Wrath is one of them, and the more e-gold grows, the more the banking system will feel my wrath. --- You are currently subscribed to e-gold-list as: archive@jab.org To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I think they're pride, envy, gluttony, lust, anger, covetousness, and (my special favorite) sloth; which means wrath goes in the anger category and greed belongs in the covetousness slot, I guess. I'm still personally interested in somehow harnessing sloth. :^) JMR --- You are currently subscribed to e-gold-list as: archive@jab.org To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I just love to see people with such driving ambition. Personally, I am a very big fan of work, it just fascinates me to the point where I could just sit and watch it all day. All this talk is all very amusing and interesting but no-one has answered my question yet. :-) Does e-gold have a problem with anyone using the e-gold logo on an adult site for a new account button? Will a disclaimer along the lines of This site is not owned by or affiliated to etc, etc suffice to distance e-gold from the site. Wrath is one of them, and the more e-gold grows, the more the banking system will feel my wrath. pride: self judgement as good. reward for virtue. envy: mostly silly, the product of lack of ambition (ambition would say okay, how to actually *get* it...) gluttony: fun in moderation. lust: virtue. very saleable. anger: virtue, if justified. useful advertising tactic. greed: virtue. also very saleable. sloth: can be a virtue, especially in programmers; see the Camel Book. Jim Ray, you said you want to harness Sloth: here's a suggestion. write a Perl module for all the things e-gold's external interface can do, one which handles the web requests using LWP, and upload it to CPAN. oh, we can do e-gold with a standard module right here, I won't have to reinvent the wheel says the coder, and uses it in preference to the competition. --- You are currently subscribed to e-gold-list as: archive@jab.org To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
